    alpla444 That's sweet!

I posted a similar thread here last year (but 2012 RAD) Thats Razor Acquisition Dissorder;)
    http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/2012-rad.26363/
If you posted in last years thread how did you do?

Just asking what do you intend to buy for the coming year? ie razors, brushes, hones, blades etc etc.... (NO monetary values need not about bragging, just asking what you hope/plan to add or REDUCE? from your den)
last year I got way more stuff than I planned but I did get my straights to Glen to be honed:D so I kinda did one thing on the list,
I wanted a tub of MDC (Martin De Candre) but just have too many soaps/creams at the moment
I still want a few bits from TSD store but sooo many products I have at the moment (some I have not even tried lol)
    Blades will be added again.
And some new knots for some brush handles Ive had for awhile now still no rush for that though.
Maybe a few straights to practice honing as I got some hones recently. and the odd hone/strop.

As for reducing the the den there are a few bits I will off load but nothing major.

A black handled Shake Sharp razor. And some more Figaro shave cream! I only have 2 1/2 tubes left. A few more bay rums and some full size Ogallala bay rums, and I think that will cover me until next year.

    Ummm...

Additions (but no pressure: I'll see what comes. I'm happy with what I've got anyway!)
    • two knots (one for Oscar11's beautiful handle and one for an old restore; don't know yet what kind of hair)
    • straight (gemstar customs or whippeddog)
    • get the straight I've already got honed
    • hone (coticule or Belgian Blue)
    • strop
    • learn to properly use a straight (duh! ;) )
    • shake sharp if I stumble upon a reasonably priced one
    • early autostrop model (the one that takes modified Gem blades)
    • perhaps some blades
    • who knows, perhaps another vintage razor
Furthermore I'd better use up some soaps & creams to create some room for new ones!

Well for 2012 I got decent brush, soaps and blades. For 2013 I going to try to maintain my den and resist buying a whole lot more stuff! Specifically, I'm going to try to avoid getting my first straight and strop, as well as all the fancy bowls (wood and ceramic) for my favorite soaps. But you never know, when money comes along, it's gotta be spent! ;)

    Neolithium I am Canadian, eh

Well I've just sealed the deal for my final DE. Feather AS-D1 and I've also ordered an iKon OC base plate for it just for some variety. No more double edge razors for me for 2013; straights I have no plans but wouldn't mind a new one. I also have my scuttle on the way so that's off my list now for 2013.

It'll be a container of Martin De Candre for me if I decide to shell out 20 Euro for shipping without punching myself in the face for paying that. Some more soaps and creams, if I feel like trying them, and a bunch more blades depending on what my new razor likes.

I"ve sold off a nice portion of my stuff and am almost done thinning out my Den, actually feels great to remove things that were just collecting dust.

I'm trying "SOOOOO" hard to resist :think002:!!! Probably will be giving "shaveabuck" some business though, couple razors, AS and who knows what else!!! I'm "Sliding Down" the rabbit hole and just CAN'T stop...:ashamed001

[Edit] ok so R.A.D. 2013 has already begun...:)
I received a bottle of Pashana from "QED" that I got to wear on New Years Day, I'm liking it so far. Also two new 3 piece handles(a SS GS1 and brass NEW Fat Handle ) on the way from "Greist Shaving". I'll make a reveiw once I give them a try...:)

If I can find one and afford one, at the same time, I would love to get a Gillette Psycho. No plans to use it; I just think it's a neat collectible.

I have no intention of buying any shaving related goodies besides blades this year.
BUT..I had no intention of buying a Titan razor from Above The Tie last night (during a spell of insomnia).
So, I guess my intentions are worthless.

Edit: I did intend to buy a razor sampler pack from TSD today, which I did.
I did not, however, intend to buy the soap w/ X2 menthol and that other thing.
Oh well...it's like my birthday everyday.

The only thing I plan to do shave wise this year is have my two vintage straights made over by Glen.

While you're there, give Figaro Shave Cream a try. He's the only North American vendor that carries it, so... you could tell yourself you are getting something rare and wonderful.;)

I spent more than I had wanted, but I did pretty darned well. Until NYE when I bought a lightly used Tradere handle off a BST thread, I only bought a few bottles of Superior 70, a couple tubes of cream to replace finished product, and 200 Permasharp Supers last year. I was not without new products though as I traded off some of the items that I wasn't using.

I would like 2013 to be the same, I still have too much stuff to use. I may pick up a razor or brush because I want to try something, but I don't see me spending much. I already sold off 400 SE blades so I am starting the year in the black.

I'm trying to de-rad myself of a lot of creams, blades, and other things not seeing use. Good thing the travel box is coming around for me to unload stuff. I've had fun experimenting, now it's time to save money while having amazing shaves.

My mom and sister make fun of me because I have more stuff than they do even though I don't clutter the bathroom.

However, I might be visiting Whipped Dog for a Straight and silver tip brush.

I would really like to try a straight this year, but knowing my budget it ain't happening :D
But who knows, maybe an unknown rich distant cousin from far away finds out about me and says : "That Monkeylord seems a very nice guy, I think I shall gift him a straight razor, or just give him a truck load of cash."
