1. Cool. Good ingredients. If you find it drying, look for some with shea butter, goat milk, or (better yet) both.
  2. I always use a leave-in conditioner or hair tonic anyway, so the drying's not a concern for me.
  3. The drying feeling might be transition and/or styling product build up. See post #1 and the solutions there. Or... just wait it out.
  4. Great post, very informative. Thanks

  5. I've been using this for 9 days, and I'm impressed. I quit using hair tonic or leave-in conditioner right after starting this, and discovered this isn't drying at all. If you have really oily hair, this might not remove enough of the natural oils in the hair for you, but I find it's perfect as a daily shampoo.

  6. Glad to know you are getting good results. I suspect there are quite a few good shampoo bars out there and a person needs to try a few & find the right one. As with shaving stuff,, YMMV.
  7. It's amazing how many new ones have popped up since I began this thread a few years ago over at B&B (edit: my original thread goes back to Sept. '09 and would later on get edited into a B&B wiki page). I wonder if it has to do with going "green" or if the economy has people realizing that they don't need to pay for water (in liquid shampoo).
  8. I suspect that both of those are factors, along with a need for less irritating products. Franky, if it had been far more expensive, but still relieved my irritated scalp, I would have spent the money anyway. The fact that is is cheaper is icing on the cake, for me. Though for some, no doubt, it is a primary consideration.
  9. Good point... sensitivity issues can be a big selling point. For me, I'm not paranoid about SLS, but I do try to avoid it (and my hair thanks me). Plus, the bars are just so convenient and just plain cool. Yeah, I need help. lol.
  10. Why? Aren't penguins supposed to like it cool?
  11. :D Ice, ice, baby!
  12. Speaking of which, have you ever tried adding a couple of drops of M-Bomb to your shampoo bar?
  13. No, I'm not really a fan of menthol.
  14. Oh well, no point then. If you liked it, you would find it to be a nice way to cool off on a summer day.
  15. Good idea, but not my thing. I do enjoy the CV mint & rosemary bar tho. But, the mint is very light (which is perfect for me).
  16. I have tried that seller's solid conditioner. Have you? I can't use the shampoo, as syndets make me itch (but everyone is different). The conditioner is pretty good.
  17. I recently switched to the CV Chamomile and Citrus... the chamomile is very kind to my hair and scalp and the citrus component does a good job of getting out styling product.
  18. Glad it keeps your feathers clean & shiny. What were you using before?
  19. Primarily other CV bars (all quite nice, except the moreno... ya smell of old coffee all day) and an occasional Rose of Sharon Acres. I also had some QCS (queen charlotte shave) bath soap do double duty for me while on vacation.
