Trumper Limes SC TOBS Eton College SC LaToja Shave Stick Captains Choice Bay Rum No. 4711 Aftershave I may have the razor that is my holy grail now, but I still haven't found my Brush(es) that will be my forever companions so I can start selling off the rest of the others lol.
hmmmm........someone always says something about no pictures means you don't have it....or something.
Nice Ryan, I just got my Whipped Dog straight in on Wednesday and Silver Tip in today. I'm putting off using the straight until I get my DE shaves perfected, still figuring things out. Really excited about the brush though as I've been having trouble with my Semogue 830 (I blame user error). I made two practice lathers and then soaked the brush in the oxi clean solution he gives you. Love the way he gives you little instructions for all his products. Here's my latest deliveries: 22mm Whipped Dog Silvertip drilled the extra 10mm (20mm total) post bloom. D.R. Harris Coconut oil shampoo which I won't use until my current shampoo is empty. Needless to say I've been extremely liberal with the amount of shampoo I use lately because I want it to run out faster. Musgo Real Glyceryn Classic Lime PreShave Soap (Decided to go with this over a preshave oil. So far so good) Still have some more stuff on the way. I've had a scuttle ordered since before Christmas can't wait for that bad boy, I need to learn to be more patient.
You should shoot high and get a Manchurian from Mark. I can promise you'll love it! (unless I missed you picking one up) That being said though, those Simpsons you have coming in should be amazing themselves! You've got some great stuff on it's way.
That brush looks amazing. I can't wait to get mine. I've been using boar for the past 7 months or so, but revisited badger a few days ago. It's what made me jump on the Silver Tip.
They don't have many Manchurians in the styles I like, OR it's the Chubby CH2 which is over $300 and I'm a little too cheap for that still
FYI Don't know about your Walmart but mine has but Bump Fighter handles w/2 carts on "clearance" for $3.48, down from $5. I don't particularly care for the BF carts themselves but the handle - a handsome, surprisingly hefty rubber-clad metal unit - is an excellent Trac II handle and possibly the only such handle now commercially available in the U.S.
I got the shaving handle from Terry, that I won in his PIF. This thing is awsome! It looks holographic! It really is a nice finish!!
Finally got caught up with all my back ordered Holiday gifts. They include a Georgetown Pottery Scuttle, Semogue 830, Semogue 2012 Owners Club and a Simpson Chubby 2 Super Badger.
Brush/razor stand for my brother that I saw Lyndon had in a SoS picture. Has his Razorock TTO and Surrey TGN 22mm syn re-knot in it. My little brass funnel to transfer my AS's from plastic bottles to glass bottles. The glass bottle w/ atomizer for my Aqua Velva. Just pulled the sticker off the plastic bottle and stuck it on the glass bottle, doesn't look too bad. Lastly some Clubman special reserve, I fell in love with the original Clubman samples Larry from whipped dog gave me, heard the special reserve smelled good to so I went for it.
Hi Justin, you may want to consider one of the huge silvertip brushes from Frank Shaving. He's got some pretty hefty ones. And, they are quite cheap in comparison. I really like mine. It has a 28 mm knot and cost just $47.49. Cheers, Lyndon
GOLD REPLATED VINTAGE GILLETTE NEW My gold replated Gillette new is finally home again! The replating was done by the Razor Emporium and I am pleased with the result. I was intending to replate the razor in Rhodium but since this razor was originally plated in gold, I changed my mind and decided to keep it more "original". It looks great, especially in bright light. Cheers, Lyndon
Where did you hear that? I have heard that some of the Whipped Dog razors might have extensive pitting left behind from rust removal, but no honemeister worthy of the name will send a rusty razor to a customer. And Larry is a honemeister, one that, like Glen, I have heard nothing but good about.
Read it a little while ago here: "Bought a Whippeddog.com Sight unseen kit. Comes shave ready and includes a poor mans strop. It should arrive today. It will be my first straight. Anyone ever purchase from them? This should be an fun adventure. Who would have thought that a shaving hobby would be this fun... I could only take a pic with flash and it kepts producing marginal pictures. Seems like if it was just honed then it wouldn't have all this rust on it. The edge seems clean and sharp but the rest of the razor blade is somehwhat rusty. Is this okay?" -Written by Turk in the thread titled New Straight
