Bigelow Brush - Ace Shaving 20mm Best Badger Blade - Feather (3) Razor - 1921 Old Type A/S - Arko Cool Balm, Aqua Velva Ice Blue A Nice cool shave today for the six inches of snow we got last night. It was almost 50 degrees here on Saturday then last night dropped all the way down to the mid teens with wind chills right around 0. Woke up and was excited for the day off (MLK Jr day) and decided to have a chilly Menthol Monday shave.

Great shave all around. I even enjoyed the smell of the Arko since it mellowed out. My first try of "the rub." I think "the penguin" is colder but the rub didn't burn like hell fire. It didn't make my numb like the penguin does either.
Interesting to see you using the Lord Racer R314. I found that to be a very aggressive little guy. A bit like a poor man's version of the R41. It's a bit too rough for me so I will be PIFing the two that I have. Cheers, Lyndon
Floids PSG Tabac SC Vulfix Super Badger Travel Brush Cadet OC Razor Crystal Blade (3) Edwin Jagger ASB GFT ASL - Spanish Leather My shaving schedule will be a bit messed up for a few days. I have a series of night and early morning flights and don't get back home until Wednesday. This was my setup for Sunday night. I struggled a bit with the Cadet because the Crystal blade was already a bit dull. I swapped it out mid-shave for a new Perma Sharp which was much better. I face lathered the Tabac and had no trouble getting a good lather. All in all, a good result and I headed off to bed to try to get some sleep before my night flight. Cheers, Lyndon
After my night flight to Bangkok, I had a few hours of sleep and woke up around 1:30 PM. I debated on shaving but since I had to go out on a date with a lady I would be meeting for the first time, I decided I should really clean up the little bit of stubble that was on my face. I thought I might just try the hotel's disposable cartridge razor and do one quick pass. I face lathered a bit of LEA Menthol and gave the little plastic razor a try. Words can hardly describe how bad this thing was. It was beyond dull. In fact, the used DE blades that I throw away would still be much sharper than this plastic disposable. I then grabbed my EJ DE89L and loaded a Perma Sharp blade for a quick second pass. I chuckled a bit as I gently drew the DE89L across my face. It was so effortless... so efficient! I have to get up very early tomorrow so I will most likely do a proper shave tonight. That's one of the nice things about traditional shaving. You get such a close shave, you can shave at night and all through the next day, you'll look at least as good as your multi-blade cartridge compatriots... if not better. Cheers, Lyndon

Another fine brisk day to wait for public transportation and a half mile walk from where I get off the rest of the way to work. It is 14 F (for all you European speakers that is -10 C). So the shave was warm water face was Proraso pre-shave cream TOBS Rose shave cream EJ DE89 with Shark chrome blade one pass WTG, and two XTG one each way warm and cold water rinse WH spash then Nivea shave balm and British Sterling AS I like the TOBS nice scent, nice lather but the Shark blades I am not so sure about. I guess it is not a bad blade just not a favorite of mine, all part of the learning experience (so many blades so few shaves). Ended up with a so-so shave
Tuesday: #6 Horsehair Super Speed/7 AM day 2 The great Tet-a-tet SC The great Tet-a-tet AS Balsam Booster Mosswood AS YSL Pour Homme EDT I certainly cannot complain after such an awesome shave like this one - the Super Speed/7 AM team delivered for me as it always does. I don't call that cream and aftershave balsam great for nothing - they really are. I love all the Booster aftershaves, but I think the Mosswood is my favorite.
