Very nice shave this morning. I brought another Mystic Water soap into rotation today, Bergamot, Cedarwood & Juniper, great scent. A bit of citrus, then a nice dry cedar with a hint of juniper. I bought 3 pucks of MW a couple of months ago after running out and being without it for a few months.. I like this soap. Have a good one.

    #6 Horsehair
    Super Speed/7 AM day 3
    Kolynos Regular SC :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Booster Polar Ice AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    YSL Pour Homme EDT

A great shave this morning - very basic and simple, with an OLD cream from Greece. Kolynos Regular smells exactly like C&E Almond cream with the flowery scent and lathers well and has pretty good skincare. The Polar Ice aftershave has no menthol feeling, but that's ok because it's -27C here in Montreal. ;) :D

Well today has been a disappointing day already! First I woke up a bitter disappointment in itself - the wife had a bad night so if she can't sleep, so I can't sleep. So I had really only gotten to a good sleep about an hour before time to wake up. Then after getting ready and dressed I checked my phone for the temp and it showed 32 F - by far the warmest it has been in days. Then I realized it was showing the temp in York, England. It was 16 F here, a big bubble burst that one. Then when I got to work my badge let me get in, I was sort of hoping that I could just go back home and climb back in bed. And then when I looked at my calendar I have a dentist appointment after work, my joy is complete!! But to back track a bit to the shave. That was rather pleasant. There was minor irritation but that is left over from earlier this week. I switched razor and blade this morning. I went back to the Merkur HD and the Gillette 7 O'clock blades a combination that works well for me.

    warm water face wash
    Proraso preshave cream
let the VDH boar bush soak in the bowl while warming it up with HOT water
    Proraso Sandalwood shave cream
Merkur HD with the Gillette 7 O'clock blade
three passes WTG and once each way XTG
there was as I said minor irritation on my neck caused by the Shark blades I had tried
then a warm and cool water rinse followed by a big splash of WH
    with AOS sandalwood AS

Over all a nice shave, I like the Proraso shave cream! And the razor and blade are a good combination for me.

Now if I could just get the cold out of my bones and joints it might not be too bad of a day.

    Florida Water Cologne

The early Henckels 401 is one of the best performers in my collection. This razor was manufactured at the apex of Solingen razor production and the quality of steel used and it's edge holding abilities are phenominal! An outstanding shave topped off with a pleasant splash of Florida Water is a refreshing way to start any day's activities.

Prep: Brush soaked in cold water, tepid shower, face washed with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Cleanser
Razor: Mühle R89 in Rose Gold
    Blade: Gillette Super Thin (4)
Brush: Vie Long re-knotted with TGN 22mm Super Silvertip, known affectionately as "the Mushroom"
Cream: Proraso Aloe and Vitamin E
    AS: English Leather
Post: Cold Water Rinse, obscene amount of aftershave

A late shave today since I am home sick. The Mühle was calling out to me..."use me, use me". Fourth shave on the Gillette Super Thin and it is still going strong, but I will retire it after this shave as I am not going to push it.

Although the Ace knot is more dense, this brush really is very soft and is great for just slathering on copious amounts of lather which is perfect for the Proraso blue tube.

Three full passes along with some light buffing resulted a very comfortable BBS.

I feel bad to say this, but it was soooooo cold this morning outside that I could not handle any menthol stuff. The Kolynos cream is something I used many years ago when I lived in Thessaloniki, Greece. It's perhaps the oldest Greek cream which is still in production. :)

Decent shave today. I shaved off my stache. Its the first time since I started wetshaving that I had to shave my upper lip. Needless to say got a nice slice at the very top of my lip. Had to break out the styptic pencil and even take a towel and apply pressure. I would say its a good cut. Other than that a great 3 pass DFS.

Did an evening shave and I must say it was quite a wonderful shave tonight. Been learning more about my face, what works what might not work. One thing that my best shaves have had in common is a great lather built from MWF although I don't always build a good lather. Been making more practice lathers, continue to watch YouTube videos on it and acquiring the whipped dog silver tips has definitely been beneficial. Additionally I think cutting out the MR GLO pre-shave and ALUM post-shave is better for my face as both caused a burning sensation when left on too long.

Pre- Shower, face wash during shower
Shave- Whipped Dog Silver tip, MWF, '85 Super Speed, Astra SP (2), Georgetown scuttle (hooray for hot lather :happy088: )
    Post- Witch hazel, Aqua Velva

Nothing like a good feeling face after a DFS!
