Mine would be the 2013 iKon OC base on my Feather AS-D1 body. R41 is nice on occasion but I think I'm over it.
It would be this replated Old Type on a BRW Improved handle. I bought it a few years ago to celebrate a year off cigarettes.
Tom, You have the coolest shaving gear. Thank you for sharing your gear and your new finds! Best, Don
1938 Senator Open-Comb TTO....I'm on a different comp. and don't have my photos but mine looks great so heres another one that looks similar...
Long toothed NEW for me, but Bird's Senator has to be one of the top 10 razors ever. So is Tom's Damaskene. And believe it or not, the Segal is no slouch.
Thanks. Smoking is bad. MMMMMMkay. Unfortunately the guy that made the handle has passed away, but there are some other nice looking handles out there. The UFO handles have me thinking. http://uforazorhandles.blogspot.com/
So far my favorite is a 30s Sheraton. The gold brother of Birds Senator. A bonus is I found it in a cluttered antique shop about 5 miles from the house I grew up in. Got it cased and an unused gold ball end tech for $15
I know smoking is really bad. But hey, (almost) any excuse is good to buy more shaving stuff, right? Cool to know some people make handles for razors. I didn't realise that. The UFO's look a bit thick for my taste, but that's just me. As almost anything shave related: YMMV Too bad the maker of your handle passed away. I'd have liked like to see more of his work and perhaps buy me some...
There are some of the UFO handles that don't seem as thick, but I haven't spent much time looking at them. Here is another one from Cooncat Bob of BRW. I still have the head, but traded the handle for a Barbasol razor.
Thanks! I guess I'll take a peek at Bob's when I want to look for another handle. I've bookmarked his site. He's got some really nice ones!
