  1. After shaving with a straight, I usually do touchups under the chin and cheeks with a Paul Revere.

  2. I think you need to show us some pics of how that 'Protector' button works....Too cool for school....

    Schick Dial :git:
Atta Boy....The 'D' types are soo cool...and seldom seen.....of course the EverReady 1924 ain't no 'square' either...a combination sounds very hip....If you do that, give us a review...Sometimes I like to use my Schick in conjuction with other razor types...and I've gotten some great shaves doing that....Some of my best results with my Super Speed were after a 1st pass with the Injector...
  3. See...another example of combining injectors with another blade type.....I agree LH....when I use my shavette, I usually do my clean-up/touch-up pass with my injector.....
  4. So, on special request here are some pictures of the Schick M3 injector aka the protector. It's called that way because it has button that moves the guard bar up to the blade in a way that the blade cannot harm other things (or beings), and vice versa in a way that other things cannot harm the blade. Nice when you're on the road.

Let's start with a family picture of the M injectors I have. There's also a prototype, but that baby is very very rare.

Left to right: M1 dial, M2 adjustable, M3 protector
    1.JPG

Same, but a little closer: M1 dial, M2 adjustable, M3 protector
    2.JPG

Turned around, you can see the slide button of the M3 (a little out of focus...)
    3.JPG

Now for the M3. In this picture the the slide button is down, the razor ready to rock and roll, the blade gap is obvious.

Acabadabra, slide button up, blade gap gone, no rock and roll anymore

    Cool, huh?

  5. Too Cool!! Thanks ajdhn....That Protector should have been a Major Pop Star....I guess it was bad timing....But for me all the Schicks and those Schick Adjustables are darn near as good as it gets...

Thanks for the beautiful Pictorial...nicely done...

  6. Here's a glamor shot of three of my adjustable Schick's, the M2 and M3 both have the Protector feature. Lloyd, hope you enjoy the picture!

  7. Like ?...I love it !! and I noticed you threw in there my Schick Plus-Plats that I use as the standard by which all blades try and measure up to....and the 74's as the ultimate, which no blade can measure up to...;)

But as much as I love these newer more modern shave instruments...and at the risk of losing out PG rating...I'd love another centerfold of your Repeaters...and maybe a shot of your most favorite injectors....

  8. There's too many pages in here to sit in read through :lam: so I'm just going to ask. I'd like to give an injector a try. Any recommendations on which models to look for. I've found many with the yellowish handle and gold head. Is that the standard model? Looks similar to this one. [IMG]

  9. Not trying to come off as 'smart', but...all Schick injectors shave great...So I would pick one that you like the price, or looks of, or availability of....there is no real 'entry' level...

That said the order of aggression goes from most aggressive to milder....E's; G's; I & J's; L's...
Problem with using this discription is this; the words aggressive and mild means something different with injectors than it does with DE's...once you shave with one you'll see what I mean....the mildest one...the L type still gives great shaves and is very easy to obtain BBS type results... and the most aggressive the E type is still super user friendly and easy to use...

Because of the nature of the beast there isn't much difference unless you get an adjustable....but when I use an adjustable I'm always looking for the setting that approximates the normal setting of the fixed headed Schick....
The Col. got it right, from the beginning...they all rock...so grab an injector that you like the looks or the price and join the party....Good luck...

Heres a chart with alot of pics and discriptions....have fun.. http://www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm

  10. I didn't know the protector feature was used with the M2. Cool, something to look out for hehe
  11. What Bird says. Only difference is when I use an adjustable, then I use the dial during the shave. First pass wide open (to really really scare the whiskers), second pass 6-ish, third pass 4-ish. And sometimes a quick all over buffing ATG with the dialled down to 1. At that point there are no whiskers to scare anymore.

  12. Hey :happy096: I love to see the different adjustment combinations that give great shaves....I dig it....

  13. another cool thing about the adjustable....is you can practice til you're getting great shaves on every setting....That razor can help you build 'bullet-proof' technique!!

  17. I just finished this handle for my Schick E3. I like the length, and it feels well balanced. The razor originally had a faux bone handle that started to crumble, so I removed it and replaced it with this one I carved today.

  18. I was wondering if this could be done, nice work
  19. Yeah, my Dad did it with his razor back in the 70s I think it was. He gave it to my brother, who gave it to me last year. I use it regularly. It is an E3 as well.

His handle is very similar to the traditional Schick handle.
