+ 1 !!!! on the Perma-Sharp Supers....they don't get much notice around here...I think it's only because not too many are 'Hip' to the Perma-Sharp Super experience...I think most just think the Gillette 7 O'Clock Perma Sharp is the samething....But not so, different blade, the 7 O'clock is made in India and the Perma-Sharp Super is made in St Petersburg Russia...It's my understanding the Russian Perma's are a much higher quality. The Turkish Barbers won't use anything else, including the 7 o'clock permasharps...of course as always YMMV...:kar:

    Super Speed/new Gillette Goal
Williams Menthol SC :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Alt Innsbruck AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    YSL Pour Homme EDT

This Gillette Goal blade seems to be pretty sharp and smooth and I got a really nice BBS shave this morning. The Williams Menthol cream is not quite as cold as Palmolive Menthol, but it's still plenty icy. The Svoboda balsam and the Alt Innsbruck made the end of the shave feel like paradise! No pics today, sorry! ;) :D

Well it is January 29th and the temp this morning out the door at 0415 was 65 F. Of course they are saying tomorrow the high will be like 32 oh well. I had an interesting day yesterday, sort in the sense of the old curse "My you live in interesting times". After work the daughter and I went to apply for our passports. It turned into a two hour ordeal. We got to the post office at just after 1400. First off she had filled out her application in BLUE ink so she had to redo it in BLACK ink. While she was doing that the clerk did my application and I made out a check to cover both applications. Then the clerk went back to doing my daughters. My daughter is 16 but doesn't have her drivers license yet just her learners permit. Well that wouldn't do as id. So we had to rush over to the license office to get her a state id. They want to see your passport as id to get your state id (first catch 22) and since she is only 16 I had to sign off as her parent. So I get my drivers license out - oh no that won't do I have to produce a utility bill or something from a state or city office on letterhead that shows my address. So we go rushing back to the car (which is back at the post office parking lot) three blocks away (up hill this time). I get the form for the city collector of revenues office that I had almost filled out and returned that morning but just didn't for an unknown reason (at the time). We then rushed back down the hill and three blocks to the license office where there was now a line of people waiting. took us about 15 minutes just to get to the clerk there an she took her time processing this application. We get a temp copy of my daughter's state id (real one in 5 to 7 days). Rush back up the three blocks up hill to the post office it is now 1545 and the passport window closes at 1600, and they have my check for both applications. There are 5 people ahead of us. Well at the window is actually a family of 4 all applying. Then there is another family of 4 and then a lady then a mother and her daughter and a mother and her son. The first family finished up the second family took forever (or so it seemed, if you haven't guessed by now I do not do standing around waiting well). The lady gets to the window and she is trying to replace her passport that she lost. Actually that one went fairly fast. The mother and daughter just wanted an application. The mother and son turn out not to have everything they needed (he was under 16 so both parents had to be there to sign off on the application). It was now like 1420 and we get to the window again. And give the clerk all my daughter's paperwork. "Oh you didn't get the state id?" no only a paper temp id the real one to follow in 5 to 7 days. Oh in the past they always issued the real one right away. Well they or not doing that today. Oh I guess this will do." And by only 1630 we were out of there. I explained to my daughter that she had just gotten her first taste of international travel. So 4 to 6 weeks and we should have our shiny new passports. Oh well the joys of life, it is a good thing that I love my daughter so that I will put up with such non-sense. And now she too is known in the archives of the Federal government, my self long ago I went for like 7 years with a SECRET or above clearance then worked for law enforcement for the next 20 years so they already know so much about me I don't care anymore.

the shave this morning was pleasant use the old TBS Marca shave cream which I always like and got a DFS++ with a bit of Masters Bay Rhum AS. A sweet experience. Afraid the shave got short shift in the tirade but did eventually did get something shaving related in.

    6/8 Hoffritz
    Lucky Tiger
    23mm Muhle knot

Nice shave. The Lucky Tiger is very slick but perhaps a little lacking in the protection department or an extremely sharp, aggressive razor. I did touch up the Hoffritz yesterday. Very close shave, BBS and the after shave skin care is good.

    • Prep: Brush soaked in cold water, tepid shower, face washed with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash
    • Razor: Re-plated Gillette Canadian Tech Head mounted to mounted to Matador Toro Mastif Corto Handle
    • Blade: Croma Diamant Stainless Steel (1)
    • Brush: Vie Long re-knotted with TGN 22mm Super Silvertip, "the Mushroom"
    • Soap: Proto-type that I am beta testing
    • AS: Aqua Velva Musk
    • Post: Cold Water Rinse, double splash of aftershave

First use of the Croma Diamant Stainless Steel blades, and I must say I am impressed. At first I did not think they where cutting any hair as the blade was so smooth on my face, but the lather proved otherwise as it was filled with stubble.

I never heard of these blades before, but I must admit that first impressions of them are very positive. I will have to give them a spin in the Progress tomorrow :D
Excellent shave today for this summer weather in January, 68ºF (20ºC) today although by Thursday it will drop to 18ºF (-7.8ºC).

For today's shave I used the following:

    Proraso preshave
    Proraso SC(greentube)
    EJ89L
    Lucky Tiger aftershave
    Shark super Plat Blades
The shave was great, I prepped with a hot shower after my morning ritual of a cup of coffee in my recliner with my dog. I did a two pass shave WTG & XTG thatwas near BBS. I can't complain, I have found that my face would rather me only go for a three pass shave once or twice a tweek since I do have to shave every day for work. I needed a little extra coffee this morning because my new laptop arrived yesterday and I tried out Diablo 3 for the first time. Beautiful![IMG]

It's a great brush so far, much more comfortable to hold than the Chubby CH1 handle however it's still a little bit of a lather hog. I'm going to use the Borax treatment on it tonight and see how that goes, I hate to admit it but the Muhle Synthetic is kicking the snot out of my high end Simpson brushes that cost quite a bit more. I can't see the Per-Shave oil affecting the soap that much, as it didn't really with my Chubby and that's much more dense. Guess my new BST thread will have to wait so I don't end up with sellers remorse LOL.

    • Feather Blade (1)
    • GFT Skin Food - Sandalwood
    • Aqua Velva ASL - Musk
Tried the Piccolo again today but this time with a Feather blade. I found the razor a bit easier to use when loaded with a new, sharp blade. No nicks or weepers and I ended up with BBS in the easy areas and DFS on my chin. I am getting close to finishing off my tube of Tabac. I really need to use up more of my existing stock so I decided I would only buy one new product for every two that I used up. Kind of like a wet shaving version of China's "One Child Policy"...

Yeah, yeah, I know. I can almost hear the chuckles. :) I guess we'll see how that goes, LOL!!

    Cheers, Lyndon

    Hi Lyndon
Iam wondering if you can shave every day with OC or slant razor with any kind of sharp razor , for me First day with sharp blade I get BBS but second day once shaving get irritation and nick so I go with mild razor (no BBS) for few days then back for slant or OC razor
