Prep: Brush soaked in hot water, warm shower, face washed with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash, hot wash cloth on face.
Razor: Mühle R89 in Rose Gold
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super Stainless
Brush: Vintage Fuller Brush restored with TGN 18mm Super Silvertip Knot
Cream: Proraso Sandalwood and Shea (red tub)
AS: Mennen Cool Spice Skin Bracer
Post: Cold Water Rinse, double splash of aftershave

I had a nice surprise when I came home yesterday, Todd had sent me a full 5oz bottle of the Mennen Cool Spice Skin Bracer. I really wish that they continued to make this stuff, maybe if we all wrote to Colgate-Palmolive they would start making it again.

For the last week or so by the time I get home from work I realize that my shave was just fair. I have enough growth for another shave, my 5 o'clock shadow looks more like 10 pm shadow, and my neck is itching from all of the stubble. I cannot stand it so bad that I end up doing an evening shave, usually with a Tech or the Merkur 1904 OC.

Although I prefer cold water shaves today I thought I would try a warm shave. I even went as far as putting a hot wash cloth on my face while I was scrubbing away in the shower in an effort to soften the beard even more.

The shave feel pretty good, not BBS, but decent...the real test will be when I get home. At least I smell good.

Still undecided with Simpsons vs Muhle Synthetic. The Duke did a pretty good job but it just doesn't feel as good as the Muhle in my eyes (yet). Still should give it some time though for the brush to break in and have the knot splay a little more...

Haven't used the Adjustable in quite sometime...thought it was time for a blast from the past...
This big guy floats like a vintage Caddie...and it does get the "Is there a blade in this razor?" award...lol
No kiddin', you really don't feel the blade on the skin like my other DE's...and its a 'buffing' monster...
All in all a very fun razor, with lots of shiny moving parts....I dig it...I had a ton of fun shaving today...a stroll down memory lane aswell....

Although it still doesn't de-throne the Senator for best shave or the Schick Hydro-magic for all-time easiest shaver...But it is my favorite DE adjustable of all-time...Man, we sure are lucky to have so many choices in razors these days...This is probably the best time ever to be into getting and enjoying a great shave...

New shave, new blade. This time I opened up a pack of Gillette Super Thin Platinum, it is safe to say that for me this is a rotten blade. I felt like I was shaving with a glued spoon, and that my beard was ripped from my face, not shaved. The second pass felt a lot better, but the performance was still lousy. For my third pass I picked up the Bakelite Slant Bar, and loaded with a black Gillette 7 o'clock blade it saved the shave.

Today I received a jar of Coconut and Shea Butter moisturising cream from Fitjarsoap. This is advertised as a very versatile cream, and very suitable for newly shaved skin. Applying this to my face after this days shaving ordeal confirmed this. Very nice and very soothing. But I might be slightly biased since this is almost a local brand and I have a soft spot in my cold heart for Fitjarsoap :)

The Brush from Lijun is a weird one. I am not quite how to describe it, but it does something with the lather I do not like. Making lather is a pleasure, but I think it steals lather and hides it in the brush. Kind of like a squirrel and how it hides its food in the mouth (or so I've been told)
    Thanks for reading:)

Very nice 3 pass today. This was the first time I've done 2 days in a row in a little while but I still had a nice smooth shave. I dug the Mike's out of the cupboard as I haven't used it in quite a while. Still a terrific soap and I never know why I leave it sit so long but I always do.

    Cream - TOBS lemon Lime
    Brush - WD 24mm Silvertip
    Blade - Dorco
    Razor - Gillette SS
A/S - Nivea Replenishing Balm, OS

Great shave. Wife was out on the town, Baby in bed and pure quiet. I love TOBS lemon lime. For me its the perfect scent a hint of citrus but very clean and refreshing. The dorco was better than I remember it to be and gave a great 3 pass DFS. The old spice is the new formula in an old bottle.

It'll take all day for my face to thaw out from all these freezing-cold items that I used this morning - the Gatsby facial wash gel is magnificent - a lovely scent and terrific skincare, the Aquabarba cream from Tunisia lathers like a maniac and is icy-cold, and then we have the 444/Penguin team which can knock you down if you can't handle strong menthol. This shave was awesome. No photos today, sorry! ;) :D

    Kiss My Face Mint
    23mm Shavemac Finest knot

Kiss My Face is an excellent shaving cream, IMO, and will compete with just about any cream on any level of performance with the exception of scent. It's not that the scents are bad, they're just not as refined as some of the the top dollar stuff. Very nice shave today. After 5 or 6 days of using creams my face is in good shape despite the very cold dry weather. I'm going to continue to use them for a while. Have a good one.
