A very, very good shave today! I have found that one of best possible combinations for me is LEA cream, my Edwin Jagger DE89L and a Feather blade. The LEA cream is super slick with great protective qualities. And the DE89L loaded with a Feather is just awesome. Very easy to use, even on the chin. Vifrex ASG and some Barbon ASL for a nice chilly finish. The best of BBS shaves, and in total comfort. Wow!

    Cheers, Lyndon

Well, this was the last shave of my holiday. I flew back to Hong Kong today and I will be back at work tomorrow. Al's Shaving cream is very dense and just a little will produce a large amount of lather. I am however, having difficulty finding a scent I really like. They all seem to be somewhat similar and rather earthy. I usually use a synthetic brush whenever I have to fly since they are more resistant to mildew. The Frank brush can easily produce a fine lather but it is not the best type of brush for face lathering. If you want the bristles to spread out, you really have to mash it down hard onto your face. A couple of splashes of Aqua Velva Musk and I was ready to meet a nice lady friend of mine. (Yes, she liked the scent too.) :)

I didn't post yesterday's shave but I finally used up a couple of products. I finished my tube of Tabac cream and my bottle of GFT Spanish Leather, both very good products.

    Cheers, Lyndon

A shave from paradise this morning with one of the finest straight razors ever created - the Dovo Bismarck 5/8 will clean you up and make you so BBS that you'll love it. The Godrej soap has that great old-school barbershop scent which matches the Polar Ice aftershave so well, it gives awesome, rich lather, however it lacks in the moisturizing department, although it's still a MUCH better soap than Williams. Thank goodness for the Svoboda balsam because my skin needed some extra care and the Polar Ice aftershave gave me that final traditional shot which I really enjoy. ;) :D

I enjoy shaving with the stiff grind of the Hart (1/4 hollow) blade. But then again, I like the old framebacks and wedges too. It's an entirely different feel than the full hollows. Very nice shave. Palmolive Italian, good stuff, really good stuff. Have a good one.

    Hello Friends,

just endet my "same procedure as every Sunday" shave. ;)

After a nice hot towel i used the following equipment:

    -Bock Silvertip Brush
    -Edwin Jagger DE89
-Lada blade (used for the 1st time overall)
    -Monsavon shaving soap
-Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera Aftershave

A fantastic shave!!! :) Used the Lada blade the 1st time ever and it is terrific!!! Sharp and close like a Feather blade.WOW!!! I´m really impressed.Today i just needed 2 passes (with and across the grain) not 3 like the shaves before...:happy093:And i´m BBS too.Really a fantastic blade.

    Hope you´re enjoying your day.

    Lovely greetings

The Mongoose is a good razor for the price and a breeze to use. It is moderately aggressive for a TTO and the shaves it delivers are very good however, I have really fallen in love with the open combs and EJ/Muhle three piece razor heads. I am finding that I use the TTO razors less and less.

Yesterday I picked up my puck of AOS lavender soap. And after reading such glorious reviews about these soaps, I was very excited to take this soap out for a spin.
It was very easy to lather. I loaded to brush for 30 seconds and that was all it took to create an ample amount of wonderful creamy lather.
It smelled pretty good too. Never been a fan of lavender, but this was not bad.

Shaving with this stuff was pretty awesome. Combining this soap with the Futur and Gillette's Silver Blue Blade was so good that I forgot what I was doing and managed to nick myself and once again burn myself with the razor.
Forrest Gump's mama knew what she was talking about :)

Too bad the tallow AOS has been discontinued, but such is life.

Prep: Brush soaked in hot water, hot shower, One With Nature Dead Sea Mineral Olive Oil Soap, hot wash cloth on face.
    Razor: Cadet TTO-15
    Blade: Chroma Diamant(1)
Brush: Vintage Stanley Home Products restored with TGN 22mm Fan High Density Finest Two-Band Badger Knot
Cream: Proraso Aloe and Vitamin E Shaving Cream
AS: Nivea for Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm (old formula)
Post: Cold Water Rinse, double application of aftershave balm

Yesterday was the first time well over a year that I have not shaved. To be very honest I was about to through in the towel to the entire traditional shaving ritual. The last few weeks my shaves have been far from spectacular and by evening I am finding that I require a second shave.

We all got into this hobby for one reason; a better shave. It does not matter how cool our gear looks or the amount of stuff we own if we are not getting good shaves. I even went as far as taking pictures of everything to post on B/S/T as I am sick and tired of shaving twice per day.

I thought I would give it another go today, but with some changed to my routine, primarily a hot prep.

I have not used the TTO-15 in a while so I thought I would try it with the Croma blade. Although inexpensive, the TTO-15 give me a better shave than any vintage TTO that I have owned.

The shave went well. Three passes, BBS on face, the neck still has a few areas that I can feel a slight amount of stubble. My skin looks very dry so I applied balm, allowed to absorb, and then applied a second amount.

The real test is going to be tonight to see how much stubble I have. If it is unacceptable I am only going to keep a few DE's for weekend use only and try something else Monday through Friday, what I do not know, but I do know I am tired of shaving twice per day.

Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

I shaved this evening since I've got an early flight in the morning.

Preshave: Proraso preshave with hot towel
    Cream: Proraso green
Brush: restored Ever-Ready 1000 with 22mm TGN super silvertip
    Razor: EJ89dl
    Blade: Blue Persona
Aftershave 1: LAB Series moisturizing after-shave soothing spray
    Aftershave 2: Osage Rub

Since I'm shaving for tomorrow, I thought I'd go with the menthol Monday theme. Now I'm almost ready to watch the Super Bowl.

For my trip I'm taking a little Gillette Tech travel razor I haven't used yet, a blue persona blade, a Speick shave stick, a Mighty Mite Omega brush and some Arko aftershave cream. I'll see how that combo does over 3 days.

Thorsten, I agree with you 100% about the Lada blades being very sharp. They do give excellent shaves but they give me bad irritation even in my Super Speed. I suppose they're not for everyone! :)
