If I know that something is coming in that day then I'll wait. Traditional shaving is so dependant on the internet that it's impossible to be able to handle every piece of gear in person. When you get a package with a new brush, blade, soap, etc. it's usually something that has been heavily researched and anticipated, so who wants to wait an extra day to try it out? This is especially true of gear that arrives from overseas.
I hear that I waited patiently for my futur I knew my pyrate cove and wd silver tip was coming today so there was na way I was shaving without them. I'm having problems getting a lasting lather with the pyrate cove but practice makes perfect I guess
It can be difficult to lather with a new brush. Usually, until it's broken in, new brushes will not lather all that well. Try soaking the puck and the brush for a little while and see if that helps. Soaps are the hardest to put off using, because with razors and brushes you can at least play around with them, but soaps can only really be played with by lathering them up.
Mission impossible is when you already shaved before work and then a little after lunch you get a package with several creams and a new razor and you have to make yourself wait until the next day. I have failed this mission before.
I just tried a test lather with my boar and it came out perfect. My next purchase will be a boar upgrade from my vdh. Gonna get a new boar and a synthetic. Prolly omega and his. Then creams and soaps from then on. Unless I acquire a few vintage razors that is lol
In the real world your a addict, here it means that you as right as rain. Welcome to the club. When the best part of you day is checking the tracking number and seeing that package getting closer to your house, then pacing back and forth listening for that sound that tells you the mailman is coming down the street. Wait a minute maybe that was too much info. Since I started wet shaving I have never loved hearing that engine sound so much!!!! LOL
I'm only addicted to my own shaving so it seems waiting on the mailman to shave would probably make you an addict for sure. Have you tried talking to him about it?
I was waiting for the mailman yesterday to deliver my New that I just had replated. I could hardly wait to shave with it. Did not shave Sunday and waited on the mailman Monday. It was worth waiting for, but my wife just laughs at me.
I don't know but I can guarantee we are probably the most impatient when it comes to waiting on a package. It's to the point my mailman tells me if he has a package for me or not before I ask him lol. Or he will stop me to tell me if I do. Might have to give him a start up set so he can understand the madness
I was just thinking the same thing, that it's ironic that a return to an old way of doing something requires a new way of doing business.
And I used to hate it. I even wore a beard for 15 years using a cartridge razor to shave my neck every other day. Now, I can hardly wait to shave. It's just fun.
