Today was experimentation with the dreaded Wilkinson blue bowl day.
I superlathered it with the Semogue 2000 using some cheapo Man Xtreme shaving cream, and it works great. The wilkie gives it the only thing it can slickness and pungent lemony smell (got around it by overdoing it with peppermint oil which ended up with a nice face freeze ), and the cream chips in with density giving it cushioning that the soap lacks, and great lather stability. The blade was a first day Astra SP in my shavette, finished off with some alum block and OS original. Two pass DFS, and a very content Monkeylord

 

Wish I could get my brush to lather like that, the col conk isn't doing it. I have some D.R. Harris and a boar brush arriving friday though.

 

I love the looks of every single one of your razors I have seen so far, and this one ain't different

 

Semogue is a wonder brush with soaps. It eats soap and regurgitates lather

 

I got some axe chilled over the weekend, the face wash is nice. but the balm is AMAZING. nice menthol-y feel and a fantastic moisturizer. i bet it'll even be nice come summer time, it feels so good

today I again took it easy on my face. Vdh boar brush and real shave co with my merkur futur set on 2. 2 wtg passes and I stopped still got a close comfortable shave

After I found my personal winning set up combos, I don't want to increase the number of items in my rotation. At least till I use up some of the current stuff and will search for some new combinations. Cleven SC is a great cream! Inoffensive scent, very nice performance and softens the skin and whiskers well. For reason unknown I cannot get consistent edge quality on my Rebell razor, and need to return it to hones from time to time. Last honing session was successful, so I was rewarded with very nice and smooth shave.

 

Thanks, buddy - lately, I haven't had even one single shave without menthol. It's not nice of me because I have a lot of great non-mentholated stuffs here, and I should re-visit them.

Very disappointed with the Lijun brush! It is sold as a "silvertip" brush but the bristles are more stiff than the ones on my $20 Frank Shaving Finest Badger. If you are considering a brush from China, do yourself a favour and go with Frank Shaving and give the Lijun products a pass. The brush also feels like it has been trimmed. On the plus side, it was a nice chilly shave today... love the Penguin!

Finally starting to warm up to the Proraso a bit. I loved the scent from day one but have been a little disappointed in the skin care despite the shea. Nice shave this morning. The C&S has a fine edge and provided a very smooth, close shave.

My menthol addiction refuses to quit - every day for about the last two weeks I've had nothing but mentholated shaves. Wow, do I ever enjoy them, however I have plenty of very nice non-mentholated soaps, creams, etc, so I need to re-visit some of them, and I will.

 

I've got a bit of the flu. Stayed home from work yesterday and didn't shave. Honestly I don't feel any better today but need to go to work. I found Bigelow is some great cream to use if your head's stuffed up. The eucalyptus clears out your head a little and the menthol is always nice. I made lots of it and let it sit on there before and after the shave for a while

I've been using an injector the past couple weeks and it's taught me a lot. I think I found the meaning of "no pressure". With a DE, I thought I was using no pressure but with the injector I found using that same amount of pressure, that small head just wanted to dig into my skin. Lightening up on it allowed it to glide. I decided to try my Weber Bulldog with a Shark SS today. Using my new found feel I had a very enjoyable shave. The Shark felt a bit rough at first but that could have been because I had 2 days of growth. On the 2nd and 3rd passes it felt much better. I got a nice DFS. Not super close but comfortable. No nicks or irritation

Hey...If the man wants menthol....he should be able to have menthol...there should be a scene where he can cop and use his menthol....
Don't worry about being fair to your other shaving stuffs....If you want menthol....I'll defend to my death, your right to have your shave
