Maybe not the best shave possible, but still very good and smooth. This Compass Ice Energy cream from Bulgaria is very nicely-scented, with great lather and skincare. I certainly wouldn't call it icy - in fact the menthol effect is hardly even noticeable. The Canada Cedar aftershave is a rare classic now.

Man, the Arko creams practically lather themselves! Any Arko cream would be great for a beginner. My favorite so far is "Ice Mint". The shark blade is only average but in the great Muhle head, it did a pretty good job. The M-Bomb really put the Commando in the deep freeze.

This was the setup for this morning's shave in Nagoya, Japan. The LEA cream has amazing lubrication properties. My face was still very slick even after rinsing between passes. The sharp feather blade in the excellent EJ DE89L razor is almost as good as it gets for my beard type. I noticed again today that menthol products are definitely more powerful in dryer climates. I suspect that more menthol gets absorbed into the skin. It was a very nice, super slick and super comfortable three passes today. Awesome!

Glare at Michelle for using all hot water.

Have not shaved in a couple of days to let my face recover from some nicks, ingrowns, etc. I tried wetting my face before each application of shave cream, not something I normally do, and it worked well. I got a DFS with my trusty old Krona and the new 7AM. Since I've almost healed up from a few weeks ago, I've forgiven the Krona for "The Incident With The Dorco Blade".

Almost out of wheat cream. Boo! It's time to order more, but I can't decide on a flavour.

Picked up and tried Clubman AS lotion, but not sure about it, yet. The scent kinda reminds me of lotiony baby wipes! I did get complimented on the scent by a nice lady though. Bonus!

Overall, it was a pleasant morning in front of the mirror. The day is shaping up nicely.

It was a fine 2 pass shave.

I was hoping to bring my baby home today from the hospital, but the doctor interjected and said she can go home if she eats well during the day. I know they would eat better at home because we have good bottles with good flow....not the cheap disposable ones like the hospital has.... come on Ruby....lets bring you home!

 

Great BBS shave today, but I verified that Balzano blades do not like my face. Razor burn, and minor irritation even while using it in a Weishi razor.
