That link to otc wholesale, check it out, they have the regular plats on sale for like 65 cents a per pack, and as cheap as 50 cents depending on how many you buy.
I read somewhere the Super-Max Sunrise and Tiger blades were super-premium blades intended to counter Gillette. The best source of information would be Vidyut themselves. Maybe they can be enticed to chime in here? BTW - Shobebox Shaveshop also sells the Super-Max Platinum blades, as does QED. And what was that forum that sells them? Oh yeah, The Shave Den.
I saw that, too. It almost seems like one of those things that is too good to be true. Has anybody ever ordered from OTC? If so, are they any good?
I've ordered a few things from OTC. They get their stuff on the cheap from specialty shops, warehouse jobbers, and drug stores that are over stocked or that go out of business. I got 100 Personna Labs from them for $10 a while back, so they occasionally have some good deals. They are geared more toward medical supplies than shaving gear, so they have a hard time moving things like DE blades.
Let's confuse things a bit more. Thanks to a blade swap, I got to try a Super-Max Blue Diamond Platinum today. I have used the Super-Max Titanium (very good blade) and the Super-Max Stainless Steel (not so good). I put it in my Slim set on 6 and lathered with Stirling Clubman. My first shave was very good: close, nick & burn free. They are not one of the four Super-Max in current production, but are available for $12.27/100 shipped worldwide from Turkey. We will see how they do on the next 3 shaves.
Well, I had 3 very good shaves. The blade started to degrade some on the 4th and had some tugging, but was still close.
