Nationwide Box Tour 2013

Box is on the move, folks! I couldn't resist and made a couple more last minute additions: Some locally made hand soap and a bottle of some local BBQ "aftershave" (okay, it's bbq sauce...but it'd make for some delicious-smelling aftershave).

 

Gates is the best!

 

That is great that is traveling it is great that you guys are making this trip so successful. Hope everyone is having fun.

 

Ok, so here's a quick update. The package arrived on Friday, but I was not home to accept it, so it went back to the PO, and I picked it up yesterday.

I have everything sprawled out on my coffee table now. I'm pretty much wrapped up with it, need to finalize my adds, and get some pictures. Will update with pics later.

 

The box will be moving on to the next stop soon, RyanB you are the next stop on the tour.

Ok, here is my long awaited update.

When I saw that xCarbonSteelx posted that he got a vintage Personna blade, I was really bummed, because I would have loved to try that blade. When I opened up the blade envelope, I was stoked to see that there was another pack in there. I made my decision without even looking at the other blades. I am not a blade guy. When I started, I had Derbys and Personnas. Didn't care for the Derbys and loved the Personnas. Been using them ever since. I've even got untouched blade samplers. I have no desire to try out other blades really. Personna is the blade for me, so there was no question which one I was going to choose.

I found it to be pretty good. It is a stainless steel blade and I usually use the current platinum chrome blades. It wasn't exactly the same but it was close. I found the first shave to be very smooth, right from the beginning. My usual blades take a shave or two to get really good. This one did not do that. The second shave felt a bit rougher, but still good. Shave 3 is tomorrow.

I love Gates sauce. As much as I wanted to take it, I left it for someone else to try. I can always get more.

The box isn't here yet, but I'm holding out hope for tomorrow.

 

The box has arrived safely on my doorstep. For my NOS blade choice, I chose the Gillette Super Stainless made in the Czech Rep. More to come later.

 

This bbq sauce smells amazing. I can sit here and smell it all night.

Serious question: Azarius is up next but he hasn't logged on in almost a month. Has anyone heard from him?

This looks like so much fun, I just don't have a whole lot of extra stuff yet but maybe by next time this goes around I will
