1. Beautiful straight!
  2. Tuesday

Moved the Gem blade over into my Gem MicroMatic Open Comb. I have two MMOCs, a gold and a chrome. I used the chrome one this morning.
I never fail to get a great shave from the MMOC. I do prefer them over the 1912 models.

  3. NICE!! Do you sharpen just in the Rolls box, or do you use other methods to supplement? I think the Rolls Razor is one of the coolest shaving devices I have ever seen! (There's a shop in town selling one — with the original booklet! — for $85. <sigh> I want it, but it is out of my price range.)

  4. Yeah, Rolls Razors are great! I exclusively sharpen on the Rolls hone and strop.

  7. NSD for me today, yesterday the PAL injecto-matic did feel to rough on my face...
Time to let it ease down a bit.
Tomorrow it's time for the Rolls!

  10. 4/3/2013
E2 injector with Schick blade (4)
    TOBS Sandalwood cream
    Vie Long 12603 horsehair
    3 pass shave
    Masters Bay Rum

I've been using the TOBS Sandalwood cream and the Proraso Sandalwood soap all week, and have come to the conclusion I prefer the TOBS Sandalwood. I like the feel and scent of the TOBS much more, and think I get a better shave with it and it is more moisturizing.

  11. Day 3 with the Hydro-magic. I've been using the same stuff all week and Arko is definitely a favorite now. The lather is so beautifully slippery that I haven't given myself any nicks and haven't even had a hint of burn all week. Still not crazy about the scent but it's growing on me and the performance of Arko makes up for any of it's minor olfactory shortcomings. I did 3-passes with touch-ups today and got darn near BBS all over.

Soap: Arko stick pressed into a bowl and face-lathered
    Brush: VDH white-handled boar
    Razor: Schick I2 Hydro-magic
    Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (3)
    AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

    Duke 3 in Best
    hot shower
    Proraso PrePost Cream
    Trumper's Almond SS
    Schick E3/Pella coated injector (8)
    warm water rinse
    Monster Block alum
    Cool water rinse
    Thayer's Original WH
    Triple Sec

Well better late than ever, great face and dome shave from the Schick/Pella combo.Even though I use de's to headshave the best headshaver razors are the Schicks, any model, the OCMM is a very close second with the Cobra Classic being third.Just got to be a little careful with the Cobra too much pressure and you will get a headweeper or 2.

  15. Sorry guys...
I think tomorrow I will be using one of the edges (sort of SE) of one of the twentyfive Polsilver blades that came in today.

  16. So Steve....it would be great if you could make the SE Party scene, and run down how your different razors compared this week...which ones are your current favs....and if there were any surprises....like a set-up that you didn't expect much from 'knocking you out", or the opposite....
You thoughts are so respected and enjoyed....I would certainly enjoy reading them....Thanks...

I've noticed the Micromatic was cool, but you expected that...but then the Gem Jr.; a 1912; which is not a fav of yours gave you a near BBS....see, I've been keeping my ear to the ground....
  17. Yea, I was pleasantly surprised with the results this morning, as well.
