OOOHHhhHHHHH!!!!! Now that's a haul!! If you are gonna get rid of a Ball End tech I'm in the market. Just sayin
OMG... what a nice collection, GarGuy! Those finds are once in a lifetime I guess... As for me, April has only just begun, and already I've geared up once again - DAMN YOU *AD! As mentionen in another post, my Korium scuttle, bowl and razor/brush stand has arrived: Also I just ordered the following also: Alt Innsbruck EdC. I need a new scent in my collection. I'm an avid fan of "classic" old stuff, so I'm really excited on this one. Proraso Brushless shaving gel (for travel, I don't think I want to use brush, bowl etc on campsites...) Semogue 1520 boar brush! I have finally settled on this one after having used a similar sized boar for days now. Shaving brush travel tube... juuuust in case I bring along my brush anyways.. Speick After shave lotion. I have only misc. balms at the moment but I suspect they'll be too "fat" when summer arrives, hence I needed a soothing splash. I hope this will fit the bill.
there were great commie knock offs, a fried of my got an Czechoslovakian Astra DE razor , and he is very happy with it I mean on fleabay, I find beautiful razors that I could acctually afford to buy, but they regulary ship only in US or ask for a ridiculous amount of money for shipping
I picked up a bottle of Superior 70 Bay Rum AS yesterday. Its starting to grow on me.(I added a carp load of menthol crystals to it) does anyone else use this? and if so, what do you think ?
I haven't used it, but I've heard others like Bootlegger's Bay Rum - 1/3 Superior 70, 1/3 Master's and 1/3 Pinaud VIBR.
Not my haul, but my Sons.Putting together a little kit for Thomas who has been working out of state for the last 6 months. He comes home on the 15th and his Birthday is on the 25th so I thought I'd hook him up with the essentials. He already has a '65 Slim, so this should round out his collection for the time being. What do you think?
And I was surprised yesterday by my wife Uncle Don. He found out I collect razors and wet shave gear and sent me an email with these pictures asking if I'd be interested in taking stewardship of his Grandpas ( former old small town MN barber) and an uncle of his collections. Plus a few things he had collected over the years. My jaw dropped. He said this this was just a part of the collection and I could have it all as long as a kept it in the family forever and never sold a piece.
^^Wowsa! Time to expand into straights . Mega generosity on both sides of the family. Is Thomas the son who introduced you to TWS? He's going to be floored!
Yes he is. When he went away to work he left his razor here. I got curious and used it. haven't looked back since! I can't wait to see his face. He is really into nostalgia and the "old school" looks. 40's and 50's. I am very lucky to be a part of an incredible family on both sides!
Just read this on the back of my Fitz package & thought of your grassy Fatboy-- "On badly tarnished, green deposits use Fitz Instant Brass & Copper Tarnish Remover..." Might be worth looking up reviews for it?
