I have found my Schick Injector to be an incredibly fast and easy razor. Everyone should have one for those days when you are in a hurry to get going and don't have time for a "proper" shave. I can get a very fast, and excellent, two pass shave in a fraction of the time I take for a three pass DE shave. I prefer DE shaves, perhaps because the injectors are too easy, but the injectors are an incredible tool. They are everything a cart razor is supposed to be without turning your soul all black and sooty. You should get one.

Nice work Ed. I agree with you. The only bad thing about the injector is that it's just so easy. Sometimes I need the adrenaline boost from a Futur turned up to 4 or 5 to wake me up in the morning. :) And Graeme, you're definitely in for a treat no matter which model you choose.

Welcome to Schickville! What kind of injector is en route? I would not recommend the Barber blades based on the reviews (dull quickly, poor QC).

I've only used Schicks thus far, but Personna blades have a good reputation & are made by ASR (whose blades are actually rebranded under several names).

The ASR/Personna injector cartridges are partially plastic, which can make loading blades tedious unless you hold the cartridge a certain way. (Do a search on this thread for BirdLives & Personna cartridges for tips on loading ASR blades. If you get ever get Schick blades (or a vintage injector cartridge), save the empty metal cartridge as it can be reloaded with ASRs...Another good search is "EMS Blades" for info on buying ASR blades in quantity.

Ok lads, thanks for the enablement. Really fancy a Type G being a 'type G' myself plus I like the cream and gold combination. Now I got to run the gauntlet of SWMBO!

A G-type was my first. They work great and can be found fairly cheap. I think FacialCarnage is PIF'ing one right now even!

I have posted a WTB/WTT for an E-type or G-type. Either would be wonderful! Always fancied an E-type Jaguar but I couldn't afford the driver's door never mind the whole car so I guess an E-type Schick would be just fine for driving around my face instead of country roads!

Gs are great! I have the cream and gold listed. I also have a silver and blue, but that is my baby. ;)

Had anyone come across an O-type? The Japanese ones? I have my brother in japan looking for one for me, and he has had no luck. He did find me the Feather Injector though. This is one of the finest razors I own. I LOVE the long handle and its aggression is somewhere between an E and a G. Honestly...it's like a big black Cadillac!

Looking forward to a cased G8 touching down in Bonnie Scotland! See what you did there, dang enablers?

What about this lovely looking black fellow? Good shavers? Mild or agressive? Efficient or are there better types out there? YMMV as always, I take it?

Here's the Gem Feather Weight I got from 'feeltheburn' Gem Feather Weight-1.jpg

and heres the haul Hoosier Trooper sent, Tom\'s haul-3.jpg

I couldn't help myself....I tried everything...at least a couple strokes of each today during a 3 1/2 pass shave.....This was my first SE shave with an SE or SEs other than an injector or a straight....It was an education to say the least...I loved every second of it....

The first few strokes with the 1912 was a surprise...they were the closest first pass strokes I've ever seen....This really is the closest safety razor to a straight or shavette...

Second up was the OCMM and here again I was surprised...instead of the out of control beast I was expecting....this razor was comfortable and very easy make the right moves with...a very natural performer...I guess easy, would be the best way to discribe it...

I did some razor buffing with both the FW and HFT....these guys are the roadsters of the SE line-up....then I did some buffing with the Micromatic and it was very hip and very bloodless...I'm knocked out....

Of course all of these opinions are first impressions....But I know for sure...I'm really looking forward to getting to know these razors much more intimately....

Yep...YMMV.....but I tell....because of the nature of the beast....this razor shaves the way you use it....It can be agressive or mild by how you use it....The 'L's have a rep for being mild by injector standarts....but compared to DE's I believe they are very easy to get BBS results....YMMV..:)

I found the L injector gives a very mild shave. That being said tho, it is very easy to get to BBS shave with 0 irritation. I just sent mine to a fellow member because I didn't use it anymore.

    +1 to what Luke said.

The L injector is the only one I have experience with. I just enjoyed a whole week with it during the SE theme week. It gives a close, low irritation shave provided you get the angle right. The head needs to be almost flat against your skin. If the angle is wrong, it feels harsh. Of course, getting the angle right is important with many other razors, too.

I just bought a G style injector on eBay. I am eager to see how the two generations of injectors compare.

I find the G more aggressive than the L, but much easier to use. It sounds odd, but that's how I feel about them. Pealing of which I think ill use my G4 this morning! :)
