Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

It looks like a G. If so, it should have 2 patent numbers on the bottom of the head beside the spring.

Here's a reference for dating injectors

Thank you @MoAllen and @Erik Redd.Hmmm,i´ve had a closer look with my magnifier...There is only 1 patent number. In the upper left corner i see "Made in USA",under it i can read "U.S. Patent" and under this is the Number "1806087" as far as i can read it right...I try to take a photo of this.Hope it will work...

    I tried my best...

    Edit: It´s a type "E".Produced in between 1935-1945.

In the pictures the handle looks like it has a seam, which Appleby says Schick started with the G types. If so, then it looks like we have another one of the oddball Schicks that has the frame from the E types mated up with a handle from the G types. A few of those have popped up here recently.

Can you confirm that I'm seeing a seam on the handle.

It appears we have a possible mystery here in our midst.....What do you make of it HT? Yours was the first hybred that I had ever really noticed....then another and now a possible 3rd.....Hmmm....I was also thinking....maybe people used the newer handles to repair E-types with broken handles....but unless you could buy the handles separately, this would render a G-type out of service....that doesn't make much sense....Do you know if you could order a handle from the factory or buy separately?...'back in the day' as it were...

I think the only logical explanation is they were made right at the time of the transition from the E to the G types. When they decided to start making the handles out of plastic instead of Bakelite there was a certain number of E frames already made so they used them up. Or, it's possible Appleby just didn't catalog this particular version for some reason.

I'd like to see better pictures of the handle of his, but it sure looks like it has a seam.

And Lloyd, I don't know if you could order replacement handles from Schick or not.

Might not the flaps on the spring plus the raised rivet suggest an earlier E (E2)? The spring reminds me of LeoK's new injector. I've read reports of mid- & late E's with marbling where the back has a little dip/valley rather than a seam. (It seems a similar blue cardboard box was used for some Es as well as G's.)

ChiefShaver, it's a gorgeous find! Not just the handle, but the plating looks magnificent. Does the curved spring swivel or is it fixed? I'm still getting my feet wet w/ injectors, but I thought I'd throw it out there :).

Way nice of Feel The Burn & Tom to hook you up !

Cool to read you nailed a great shave out of them on the first run
I've heard of OCMM's running amok and biting their owners, but have found them to be ultra effective and gentle as a new born kitten.

Designed to be intuitive,if you go with the flow...

Great ad, thanks for posting....Yep, it was super cool of those guys...:happy096: ....Even though HT kind of tortured me by not telling me what was in the package....:happy097:

I think this ad is right on :happy088:....I have never even considered the Micromatic because of its 'Pit-Bull' rep...But, like the dog, that rep is undeserved....This OCMM is an extremely well designed and well-made 'pussy-cat'....The angle is built in....Everytime I make a stroke with it, I'm surprised...so efficient, yet user friendly....and the results are like with my shavette, only no blood...

OK, so now I have a serious case of IRAD.

I like my Schick L type very much. Last week I picked up a pretty G type on eBay. I like the small convenient size, and it is really cool looking. :)

So now, I have my eyes on picking up a type I. [IMG] Here is a photo from safety razors.net.

Can anyone give me an idea of the shaving characteristics of the I type? My impression of the L is that it is milder, but still efficient. The G is more aggressive. I like the L except I wish it had a shorter handle. Does the L shave more like the L or the G? It looks like an L with a shorter handle.

Is it worth looking for the Hydro-Magic I2 with the black handle over the more common I1with the ivory colored handle?

I can't comment on which is milder, I find all my injectors to be pretty mild, but the advantage of the I2 over the I1 is the I2 has a lever that allows you to release the pressure holding the heads together. This lets you rinse out the head while the blade stays loosely in place. I think the heads a little heavier on the I2 also, but it could just be my imagination.

The I types fall right in the middle between the G's and L's which for alot of us kind of makes them the 'Goldilocks' razor...You know.....Just Right...;) I do believe they are drop dead gorgeous also....:) and by the very nature of injectors even though thay are a tad milder than the 'G' typrs they can still be agressive by how you wield it.

I have the I2 and appreciate having the hydro-magic lever when I use it, but you know?....I hardly ever use it...I guess thats why they ended up dropping it...I honestly don't think it's a "got to have" option....I know I could be happy with the I1...I like the I2 mainly because that was the razor my Dad used when I was growing up...and I used to look at it all the time and thought the Lever was cool.....But to try and answer your question...I don't think you need the H-M lever...and the I1 is solid as a rock...that lever is a fragile piece that could break...The razor I learned to shave on was my Dad's I2...after I got it, many years later that lever broke...I tossed it...If I knew then what I know now I would have kept it...but ignorance is bliss and I was pretty happy most of the time...lol...

I've never met a Schick Injector I didn't like and the I types are my personal favorites....Good luck...let us know what you decide...That picture you have of the white handle I1 looks great...if I were you, I'd get it...They are great little shavers....;)
