youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

I washed out my Murray's pomade and used the Suavecito...... Smells great, shines nice, but can't hold my hair. Only used a couple fingers of it.

My Injector came! Now I'm waiting on the blades to arrive, they will ship soon.

I've never shaved with one of these, totally a novice with this razor. I suppose I just leave the blade in? I want to clean the razor but also want to be able to get the new blade in with no trouble.

If this is an E2 I was told it opens, but it looks difficult to open, I can't find instructions on how.

    Aces!

I found this at an antique store for $4. I didn't want to walk away empty handed so it came home with me.

Well the "Family Haul" has finally come home to roost! It was way way way beyond anything I could have hoped for. I mean of course everything in the pics from my previous post was there...but what I couldn't see...well here is some of it. I will have more pics as I root through it all and catalog everything.

The full haul just unpacked on the table. Sorry for the blurry pic, my hands were probably shaking :)

See the little NOS Travel Tech in the Red Case, still had the cardboard in the blade seat. This was a complementary gift at a Seattle hotel, sometime back in the 70's he thought. Also the Lady Gillette to it's right is also a never used razor, in a gift bag along with some Gillette Blades, another hotel comp. The Tech Box was empty but for some cool old blades, but I traced it to one of the Fat Handle Techs, it had one of the blades in it, but it certainly looks to have never been used. It is pristine. I'm still kinda freaking out so bear with my rambling.

In one of the pictures in my first thread there were two straights shown. I had no idea what they were, could only see the tangs so I knew they were 20th century, that's it. Couldn't even fathom that one was a Dubl Duck GoldEdge. This thing cleaned up really nice. Gonna send it out to Glen soon for honing and see if I can't cut myself!

Check out this old puck of Williams!! This collection hasn't been added to since the 70's so this puppy is pretty old. What can the Williams folks tell me about this?

Lots of old cool blades, once I go through them I'll take some pics all laid out. Can't wait to re knot these old brushes!

Can't wait to really dig into and date these razors. I am so lucky to have an amazing Uncle who passed all of this on to me with a few stories about his Grandpa the Barber and his Uncle Dale the Chiropractor. Some of these actually cam from another Uncle, a great man Uncle Bill Sawyer who died not long ago,. I knew this Uncle and loved him very much. Makes this haul quite a bit more sentimental. Wow. That's all I have.

I have been wanting to move up to using a straight. I first wanted to use a straight when I first started shaving and my father refused to let me try. He bought me a Gem SE razor and told me to shave with that and leave my nose and ears intact. When I started wet shaving again ( some 60 years after my father bought me The Gem) the idea of a straight was still in the back of my mind. However, I still did not know how to strop or even how to hold the thing. I have been shaving with a Cobra and love it. I reasoned that if I had a Feather Artist SS I could practice stropping it (I know you don't strop a SS). I already had blades that fit it and I could practice my technique for using a straight. Fellow list member Smoothy advertised just the razor I was looking for. He said he used it only 6 times and was very accommodating on the price. The razor just arrived. It was packed in it's original packaging and is immaculate. I can't believe it was ever used at all. Smoothy is a gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. Anyway here is a picture of the razor. Now to practice. I think I will use it for the first few times without a blade inserted just to train my muscles. Then with a blade WTG for a while till I move on to across and against the grain. It's a first edition IOC Chaos Emperor Dragon Envoy of the End (near mint) Yu-Gi-Oh card. I broke down and bought it on line. I got it for a very decent price and am more than happy to welcome it into my dragon deck (even though it is a banned card).

And if you can't tell, yes I am a huge closet nerd! ;)

The Cajun Haul!! I was working in Louisiana this weekend had a little time to check out the local junk stores.

    2013-04-15 19.28.05.jpg

An EverSharp Hyro-Magic, Flair Tip Rocket, English Tech, and a Canadian 1932 Fat Tech with triangle cut-outs.
Really confused how three foreign Gillette razors ended up in a junk store in Louisiana but not complaining. I can't believe I found my Pink Floyd razor!!!

Some plating loss and the lining in the case is shot, and 2 very slightly bent teeth on the razor head, but for £10 im not going to complain, its a very nice shaver, handle is a bit small than what im used to but still nice. Ive been after one of these for awhile now happy to get one
