File this under, "Things I should have bought when they were cheap!" I've always wanted to try this and now I have my opportunity, without paying MDC prices.
Got a much needed laugh in the mail from a friend & thought ya'll might get a chuckle too I'm not sure whether the ballsBALM or unmarked bag o' white crystals is more sketchy? The baggie is 4oz of menthol crystals, & my (girl) friend swears that bB Calm Balm is the best post-shave balm for sensitive skin anywhere. (It came up in tuxxdk's aftershave balm thread.) Cheers!
I agree, I love it here. What kind of work you doing down south? I was just in Lafayette over the weekend doing some work and the city there was having their monthly antique sale. Got a couple of super cheap de razors and brushes there. Was a lot of fun digging around through all of the stuff.
That is where I was I didn't know they had monthly sale. I wouldn't have had time to go anyway was stuck at the gun show.
It was actually in Opalousus(however you spell it) about 15miles before Lafayette coming from my direction.
The postman was good to me today. Finally got my Slim Adjustable, some razors, a NOS brush that I'll use for travel and a Bakelite handle that I'm going to reknot. Also have a few pics of the Slim Adjustable while I was cleaning it with Scrubbing Bubbles and after she got polished up. I was worried for a few minutes that I'd bought a duckling but it turned out to be quite the swan. It took me 90 minutes to get it the way I want it but every part is shiny (though it's hard to tell with these bad pictures).
It's not shaving related ...I invested in some (more) good music. A friend of mine got mad at me when I was listening to Lady Gaga to stay awake at work...yeah...I know. I told him I needed some hip music and that id biy the first album he recommended. He told me to buy The Tragically Hip...so I did. I've been listening to them for years, but have never bought any of their albums. The other album is Bobby Bazini. I love his sound! Its a good night for Canadian music in my house!
If this forum is not restricted to shaving items. My second love is shaving. My first love is good coffee. I roast my own beans and am a charter member of CSA(Coffee Snobs of America). Anyway I recently scored 4 beautiful coffee mugs.
Not much this month. Took the kids to Mall of America for a little spring break getaway. They have a Kiehl's Apothecary there. Grabbed a little bottle of "Facial Fuel". This stuff is awesome! But at $26 for 2.5oz, it's gonna have to last me a while!
Kiehl's makes some pretty good stuff, but out of my budget range, that's for sure. Tho, they are pretty generous with the samples.
That Lady Gillette sitting on top of the white blade pack is the Champange Stars version, probably the most difficult of the four colors to source. When I assembled Shawna's four pack, the light blue was easy, the dark blue was hard, the pink was obnoxiously rare and the champagne.... I had to trade nine hens teeth and a 1961 VW Bettle radiator cap just for the option to get in line to bid on it. Nice Haul!
I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything this month... but I scored an MWF bowl and an Aluminum Ball End Tech for $30. Darn, now I guess I have to start getting rid of stuff I don't use.
Wow! I had no Idea. Well this haul just keeps getting better and better. Better yet the thing has never seen lather! Thanks for the info love learning more about this hobby! I'm trying to get my wife to try it out, but she's a bit leery.
Why do you lie to yourself like that. Just accept that there is no turning back, rent a storage unit, and head over to the bay!
