What is this and why is it so expensive?

That is a fat boy adjustable (aka: the 195). The bottom dial makes it a prototype & therefore quite rare. Hence the price. (Production FBs have the adjuster dial closer to the head and blade.)

 

Also it looks to be a "VERY" good condition and it comes with the case which also looks to be in good shape...What was the price on this one??

 

It's at auction. 3 days left so hard to tell what it will go for . Current bid is $535.00.

 

Last one I saw went for over $700.00 at auction.

Not often at all........But I never watch them they are out of my price range. I'm mostly into the 50's and 60's Gillettes, So this is THE Holy Grail for me. If that says anything about it.

Did you guys notice the magnifier in the case lid is positioned properly? The warranty card says No: 16494. Did they make thousands of these I wonder?

 

Done some more research. Looks like one went for $1850 a year ago.

But one went unsold for $1100 last year too. Dangerous waters here.

 

So if you could get it for under a $1000 you'd be ahead of the game...I wonder what the reserve is and if my wife would really divorce me...

Did you notice it started at 9.99?? Thats why you have to check ebay constantly and bid early...Could you imagine being the first bidder and having the razor slip through with only your bid...:happy97:
