  1. I hope that my Schick E3 and my soon to arrive Gillette Rocket don't fight . Might have to put them of different sides of the basin.
Will be interesting to try a DE after many months away and I hear the Rocket is a good one, it has the red tip.
  2. I think you will find you incoming L2 your go to razor. The handle is the perfect length and the shave is not too aggressive, just injector efficient.

  3. Now that I’ve got two types of Schicks (soon to be three) I’m having trouble deciding which to use each morning!

I’ve been going back and forth between my E2 and I2, but I get out of rhythm with each razor. Each needs a different technique and my head gets confused! Add different creams and it gets more complicated!

    Decisions decisions!

BUT I think I’m falling heavily for the Hydro-magic. I’ve tried to fight it because I like the visual design and color of my E2 better, but using the E2 today is confirming my continuing and undying fondness for the Hydro. The Hydro is so smooth and seductive I have to give in. My wife says I’m a gentle man, with a gentle manner in my movement and style. It’s no wonder I’m falling for the Hydro. It seems to fit my personality.

When my L1 type arrives, I’ll perhaps plan on spending a week or more on it. Or, perhaps I’ll save it for awhile. I haven’t decided yet. But I’m not going to switch so fast next time. The Hydro will be my go too for now.

Thanks for listening to me ramble on.

    Aces!

  5. I concur sir! After today's shave I BELIEVE it!

    The Schick Creed:

“This is my Schick I2 Hydro-magic. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

My Schick I2 Hydro-magic is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

My Schick I2 Hydro-magic, without me, is useless. Without my Schick I2 Hydro-magic, I am useless. I must angle my Schick I2 Hydro-magic true.

I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, and it’s blade. I will keep my Schick I2 Hydro-magic clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other.”

  7. That would be PERFECT :)
  8. So...Party members I have a question for you. I really like my Schick Adjustable and this has me wonder about the PAL adjustable. I think the PAL is easy on the eye but wonder about the shaves?

Earlier I made the mistake of typing "L1" when I meant J1!

Warm water three pass+ for an elegant DFS!

My J1 arrived yesterday. She looks new and shiny! I was originally going to wait till the weekend to try it, but it looked so beautiful I couldn’t wait. I bought it for aesthetical reasons, not imaging such a mild razor would mow down my stubble with such military precision and elegance.

As I shaved, the song “Who’s that Lady?” was the perfect soundtrack in my head.

  11. I've never used one but I have seen some love for those around here....I'm sure the smitten parties will show up...;)
  12. Thanks, and yes, these are my Schick beauties :love055:
  13. For any of you fortunate enough to have or have shaved with both a Golden 500 (J-3 or J-4) and a I-2 Hydro-Magic. Is there much difference in shave quality?
  14. Unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to shave with either...:) That said I've found that of those injectors I've used, they mostly shave the same for me...After using my DE's and SE's I really have little interest in anything else. Good luck on your search....:)

I've been getting real close DFS's in only two passes with minor touch up. Wow, what a Schick!

  19. As I enjoy the pleasant effects of my shave this late afternoon, I’m happy how the J1 provides such a mild and pleasant shave with no lack of closeness after two passes and touch up. The aggressive factor is really not much different than my other Schicks. The differences seem minimal now that I’ve lived with my E2, I2 and J1 for awhile now.

Bird Lives in right. With a Schick, find the one you think looks the coolest (or most aesthetically pleasing) and use that. You’ll have great shaves!

I can see the J1 becoming my standby. Perhaps it’s because I’m still getting my technique down with mixing lather, but the milder J1 (AND the Hydro-magic) helps my face feel better after a shave. I’m getting a fondness for this long handle beauty though. I love the era it was made, 1958-64. There’s almost no way you can get a terrible shave. As long as your lather is good, an every-day-DFS is pretty easy to achieve with a Schick. And I’m still a newbie with more to technique to develop! It can only get better!

    Long live the Schick Injector!
