Hot shower, Axe Chilling facial wash, for prep.
Kell's Original Hemp and Aloe, today's soap choice.
The Omega 48 was the chosen for lathering.
Blade and razor pairing, The "Mongoose" and Big Ben Purple
Warm water rinse, cold water splash, Krampert's
A superior DFS resulted from three passes.

    Pre: hot shower, Lush Dirty
    Brush: Simpson Case, Best
    Cream: TOBS grapefruit
    Razor: Merkur 1904 (2)
    Blade: Derby (1)
    Post: Pinaud's Bay Rum

Feeling brave, I decided to use the 1904 for the first time since I got my Superadjustable. Using what I've learned about blades so far, I loaded a new Derby and took it easy. The last time I used this razor I took off a layer of skin, but my shave went well today, smooth and easy with minimal burn. I guess I've learned a thing or two since I've been here. In the spirit of my old-style razor, I skipped the ASB and went with 2 good splashes of Pinaud's and nothing else, and my skin feels smooth, soft and nicely dry.

    Enjoy the weekend everybody!

    Friday

After a nice evening in front of the bonfire I needed a shower and shave.

Prep: Shower with Matas Face Wash regular version for the face. Nice wisker massage.
Lather: Hot, amazingly soft, lather from Speick soap in my Korium scuttle.
    Brush: Semogue 1520 boar.
Weapon: Mūhle R89 with Shark SS (3).
Shave: Traditional 3 pass in all directions.
Post: Cold water, alum, cold water, followed by Speick after shave lotion.

This was my first use of the Speick soap. I have grated it into a tin can for easy brush loading. I must say I think it's the best lather ever for me. Beats Haslinger Ewe Milk! I'll have to try it some more times to see if I was lucky today or it really is that good. If, then it's an overlooked little gem for little money that has really surprised me.

    Great DFS! :)

First use of the Proraso Pre/Post. Loved it as a post, the pre...I will have to do a controlled experiment to tell the difference.

I greeted everyone in Arabic and what I said means "peace be upon you, and upon you may peace be with the mercy and blessings of God." This was an Egyptian-style shave so to speak, with this really nice cream which smells beautiful, lathers so richly, and cools mildly. The Aqua Velva felt like heaven afterwards. This shave turned out just the way I wanted - mega BBS! ;) :D

Very nice shave again with this razor, smooth and close. I rescaled this razor last night. It isn't working for me visually, close but no cigar. I'd like to know what you think about the scales. I'll be heading to the shop to make a new set soon. Have a good one.

Nice 3 pass shave. I lathered in the scuttle for the last day of Bowl Lather week. 2nd shave with the Shark blade, a good shave but not as close as the Astra SP or Personna blue. I think I'll try a different blade tomorrow.

    Friday...

Surprised even myself and went for the hat trick and used the same kit for a third shave in a row.

    Razor: '51 Gillette SS
    Blade: Personna Red
    Soap: Godrej Deluxe Lime
    Brush: Semogue 1305 boar

    Two pass with touch up
    Cold rinse
    Alum block
    Cold rinse

This has really been an enjoyable combo but I think it's time to give a little love to some of the other tools in the den.

I forgot it was bowl week. I have been using my travel bowl- an empty Proraso white tub- for lathering all week. Works great! This is my first foray into Bigelow cream, as I usually use Proraso soap. The next phase of my shaving will be trying more soaps/ creams.

There's something about the texture I like. I'm not digging the current color, though. A different color, can't quite put my finger on what it would be, and I think it would look great.

Saturday - it's the weekend! :happy069:Time for the SEs.

Prep: 40 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hone and strop str8, hot shower
    Coffee: Home roasted Kenya, BLACK
CD: Glen Miller ~ In the Mood, disc 1
    Hone: Duro Electric
    Strop: VB 2" black latigo/linen
    Soap: TSD Florida Water Type
    Brush: The Dridecker
Str8: Premier Life Time, 3 passes
SE: Schick Injector E model, touch up
Post: Cold water rinse, RazoRock rub down, ice water splash, B&BW Oak
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

It's been a while since I went the marinade route with the pre-shave balm. Figured I'd give it a go since I was in absolutely no hurry this morning. Felt nice.

And the coffee? Oh, my goodness! I went with a lighter roast than I normally do - :eatdrink013: FANTASTIC!

How do you roast? I tried using a hot air popcorn maker one time ( not what you'd call a success). I'd like to try again but the only place around here that sold green beans went out of business.

Another great shave with the russian Ideal on a 9 setting, and a Bolzano blade (4)
I used Tabac and HJM badger for lathering. And a splash of OS original to finish it off. The shave was awesome, the razor glides on the face with no irritation what so ever , but I find it a bit lacking on aggression. I only wish it had a few more settings over 9 :D
