I just read the feedback. Not good at all. If I need less expensive injector blades I will go with the Ted Pella/Personna type.

Thanks for the link. The pictures and descriptions broke everything down very nicely. Now I know what to look for if I am shopping for a vintage injector at a flea market or such.

    I've never met a Schick injector I didn't like...
Now thats happening with my SE's...I'm starting to think that all Gems and Ever Readys rock!!!
For Gems I've recently tried the Heavy Flat top (G-Bar), Feather Weight, and Open Comb Micromatic...and they don't all just shave Great...they are like all better than great...Especially that OCMM...that was one of those best shaves of my life type shaves...;)

And for Ever Readys, I tried their version of the 1912 and have gotten many of those "Best Shaves of your life" type shaves with this one.....I'm one smiling dude...

Now I'm waiting for 3 razors...ER:1914, & 1924....and the Gem that kind of started this whole style of shaving, a Gem Damaskeene 1912...

I'm in SE shaving Heaven....I plan on more in depth reviews and comparisons....But for now...I'm getting the best shaves of my life and having the most fun doing it....You cats owe it to yourselves to checking out the 'Sharp-Side' and give a Gem or an Ever Ready a spin if you haven't already....

    Great Shaves everybody.....

youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

So thanks to BigT and his PIF I now have a Gem Featherweight. I have heard these are the gateway drug to SE addiction... They shave that good. I also was PIFed a Gem 1912 (BigT) and a Gem 1912 Damaskeene (RyanB). Now off to find some SE blades at the store to shave with :)

So I'm bringing out my paintbrush, the Schick J1 Injector for tomorrow. According to my stats I haven't givin' it it's full due yet, so starting tomorrow I'm going to use it for a week and see how I feel. I think it's mild quality is putting it in the top running for daily shaver :)

I looooooove the design of the Schick J1 Injector. I love it's color, and especially it's time period (1958-64). I wasn't born yet so my nostalgia is connected by film, music and other objects from that era.

The longer handle brings a whole different experience to the table. The longer handle reminds me of the Gillette Sensor, except the J1 has a fixed head, single blade and cuts profoundly closer than the Sensor. It is my paintbrush!

Today I got the perfect 'close comfortable shave' in two passes. My next exploration is the close comfortable shave, and this J1 paintbrush should work perfect. I'll be shaving in the era of Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Chuck Berry!

Wow! you've been blessed...looks like you hit the ground running in the SE parallel universe....I feel certain you're gonna dig it....let us know how it's going...theres enough info around about the angle and such...I find the angle very similar to the one I use with my injector...I put the head almost flat and as I start to make that first N-S stroke I lower the handle til I hear the SE's sweet voice and I know the blade is obliberating whiskers...The feed back is incredible with these guys so you will know exactly whats going on on the face's surface...like a fine sports car...;)

You got that right!! Your shaves should be rockin...And that precision instrument you have in your J1'Paint-Brush' was so far ahead of its time, it's still 'State of the Art'....Rock you out some great shaves and lets here about them...:)

I'm loving the SE razors, didn't like my injectors as much but these Gem razors are great. The feedback is incredible. I have no idea what to use for desert island week now, since I'm starting to fall in love with these.

The SE razors are a lot of fun, the feedback from them adds a great dimension to the wetshave experience! After you get used to the regular SE razors, start looking at the old lather-catchers... the coolest looking razors ever in my humble opinion. (although the 1912 DAMASKEENEs are still one of my all-time favorites)

Hey guys (and gals too) - a little help if you please. I want to buy another Schick Adjustable injector but the adjuster dial indicator disc is missing on the one I am looking at. So I was thinking I would digitally scan a Schick adjustable that I do have that has the dial indicator disc intact. Print it on label paper with a sticky back, cut it out and apply it in place of the missing disc. But this is not a very good solution in that the printed paper disc will be getting wet and not last very long. Any ideas as to something better??? Thanks in advance. PS I absolutely love the shave I get from a Schick Adjustable.

I'm not sure if this will work all that well either but it'll be better than plain paper. I use adventure paper to print out maps for hiking sometimes since I'm still a bit wary of relying completely on a GPS. It's at least somewhat waterproof but I'm not sure if it's good enough to stand up to the amount of water shaving will throw at it.

Thanks for the idea. I found this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KEJX90/?tag=thshde-20 It is cheaper than the adventure paper and maybe I can get it locally. Still I am looking for more ideas. Thanks so much.

Do you really need the dial insert?...I mean, you know pretty much where it is and where you're going....;) Of course maybe you could paint a couple marks like with finger-nail polish to give you a point of reference...

I don't have to have it but it would be nice to have a dial indicator. Well, maybe I could trim out a round piece of an aluminum can, glue it in and paint with Testor's (or use a Sharpie) some reference points like you say. There are only eight settings N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W, and NW. I could actually get by with four(N,E,S,W) and it would be easy to approximate the other four settings. I'm not going to stress about it. Something will come up.
