How awful . I'm very thankful no one was injured & it wasn't larger branches/logs. LOTS of *good vibes* for your roof/structure & the clean up. Extra hugs to Diesel & co!
Not able to do a whole lot without electricity, dang it! Twice in one day, too! On my tablet, which is a pain to post from, but....... Sorry to hear about the job, Steve. You have the right attitude though so I am sure you will find a new one soon. Tim, sorry about the tree. Trees are great, just not near houses nor on roofs. Hope it doesn't cause too much trouble for you. Micah, sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you heal soon.
I get home and just put on a movie. I hear don't move get the F down. I realize it's not part of the movie go take a look. I see 3 cops with AR's in my backyard with a guy in handcuffs... Yeehaw... (The pond was supposed to start being filled today, but the rain delayed it.)
Now you know the answer to the age-old question-- "Bad boys, bad boys whatcha gonna do, Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?"
Thanks for the intel. It changes my plans for the night. Just kidding. (no, I'm not) Edit: I'm referring to my night job (cat burglary), nothing salacious
Started out at O'Dark-thirty to drop SWMBO off at the airport, with a sad 2 year-old in the car seat in back. Minutes after pulling onto the highway, the flat tire alarm went off, and I exited ASAP, found a place to pull over, and called AAA. I also called my mother, woke her up and got her on the road to take SWMBO in a frantic rush to make her flight (she did). I was left with my crying daughter on a utility road in the rain. AAA sent a guy with a truck pretty quickly, and he proceeded to jack my car up, remove the flat, and let the jack fall, so that the car landed on the jack, messing up a side-skirt panel, and giving the little one some excitement in her car seat in the process. I had a few things to say about that, he replied in kind, and for a little while it was pretty heated there on the side of the road. Eventually he called in another truck with another jack, they lifted the car off the jack and got the spare on, and I went to a nearby dealership to have a safety inspection done. The AAA guy followed me all the way into the dealership, still arguing, attracting a lot of raised eyebrows. Bear in mind all of this happened with me holding a squirming, crying child in my arms. Now in addition to a new tire, I need some minor body work and a rear-end alignment, which AAA says they'll pay for, but promises to be a major hassle that I don't need while I'm playing Mr. Mom. The service manager from the shop who sent the AAA clown apologized profusely and promised to make things right. We'll see. Tomorrow I go out of town as well, leaving the little one with her Grandmother for a couple days for the first time. . .
I'm a little late to this party - but congratulations! As a father of 3 (all still relatively small) I can tell you that the fun starts here!
^^ I was referring to my night job in cat burglary. (Break in, play with the kitties & sneak out). Nothing salacious! Although, it seems handcuff keys should be more costly if they really work on police cuffs, no??
Aw, yeah! Let's take this outside, dog-breath! This is me after my mid-afternoon nap, but before my late-afternoon nap & my after-nap nap...
Ahh, how I miss that little fellow, Micah...I'd almost forgotten about him! Okay, a quick breather/refresher: The past couple of weeks = check in, examine, fill in condition report for roughly 650 student macbooks (not me by myself, of course ), still with about 150 or so staff macbooks to do next week; repairs to said macbooks that need it (still ongoing); reimaging to happen in the next coming week....busy busy busy. Once that's done I get to head up the reimaging of all ~500 Windows machines (not too bad...FOG rocks), plus inventory, RAM upgrades, cleaning, etc. Plus a rather big network infrastructure upgrade sometime this summer This past couple weeks has been so hectic, I can't believe it's only been one week since my wife and I celebrated our 15th anniversary....it already seems so long ago that that date night happened. I'm ready for a nap.....
