Another smoooooth shave.

But on a side note:

I dropped the razor when taking out the blade for a spin in the ol' Allegro. Since this part of the Desert Island has a rock hard floor in stead of sand, it scared the heebeejeebees out of me! No spare razor on this island... (yeah, right )

The razor landed on an open door which I had to pry loose. The doors still open and close, bot not as smooth as before. I guess I'll have to find me a magnifying glass and check things out.

My shaves have been pretty good so far this week.

Prep: hot shower, TBS face wash.
Brush: TGN Grade A.
Razor: Gillette Aluminum Ball End Tech.
Blade: Personna Med Prep.
Cream: Dalan D Men Sensitive.
Post: cold water rinse, Thayer's WH Lavender, Barb on AS.

I went ahead and brought Dalan D Men with me just in case I needed to take a shortcut lathering up. I used it once before but am not overly impressed with the lather. I like the Palmolive stick more.

 

Same ole, same ole. Wilson and I are still hanging in there on this tropical paradise. I was able to log onto the web and order 100 more of these blades. And some more Palmolive crème. Non menthol. I like the menthol, but I'm not certain about how I feel it being my only option. Oh well, S.O.S.!

Wow! Great shave, probably the best I've had yet. I'm in a hotel in Killeen, TX on business. It almost has to be the water in Texas, everything else I used is part of my usual routine, but for the first time, I had to check to make sure the blade was OK on the second pass because it was smooth as silk. Maybe I'll start using filtered water at home and see if it makes any difference.

2 pass DFS and a great lather. For the last 2-3 months I have almost exclusively hand lathered and enjoying the results of the nice lather!

 

Thursday evening

Didn't shave yesterday, time just flew by me :-( So today I went to town!

Prep: My usual, when not showering - Nivea for Men Sensitive Face Wash.
Lather: Haslinger Marigold whipped up in my bamboo bowl.
Brush: Semogue 1520. I just love that brush!
Weapon: Merkur 15C with Astra SP (2). Better than expected! Second shave with the 15C in a looong time.
Shave: Traditional 3 pass. Tried 2 pass last time - didn't work for me :-/
Post: Cold water, alum block, cold water; finished off with my trusty Nivea for Men Sensitive asb. Love that stuff!

Great DFS+!

Dfs again. First shave with my very own mdc. Still awesome and a wonderful lather. The vigoroso felt very chilly on a hot afternoon.

 

Thursday, dinner time. Thursdays don't have a theme.

The usual desert island stuff, except my second island blade is one I've never tried before. It has no markings and it came in a blister pack that I no longer have, which is a shame because it is an excellent blade. Could it be a med prep? Anyway, awesome shave.
