1. Really not much different to look at, as you can see. The LeMans didn't have the hood scoop and the tail lights were a bit different, some difference in the grill, as well. The real difference was under the hood. My LeMans had "just" a 326 (hence my "mini Goat" reverence), but she could still break the tires loose when I stomped on it.

  2. Just got out of the dentist office. I had an old silver type filling that had lost a piece and a small cavity had formed. She drilled out the old filling and replaced it. I'll go back to work after lunch, give my mouth a chance to de-numb so I'm not drooling over everything.
  3. 8th grade "completion ceremony" last night--check
    Kinder Graduation this morning--check
    Elementary Awards Ceremony this morning--check
    12th Grade Graduation--T minus 9 1/2 hours and counting

I'm a computer guy; how did I become the sound guy?

After the ceremony last night, I got to play around with my electronics a bit more. Salvaged a bunch of pieces from some old ps2 mice I had lying around. It was kind of fun, but I'm not sure what I can use the pieces-parts for.
  4. Controlling the sound system? :D

  5. those were the days, my friend. Many a great afternoon was spent tinkering under the hood of everyone's cars. most guys had Chevy Nova's in my area, but you did see the occasional GTO, LeMans, 442, Mustangs, and Darts.
  6. I just threw up. Up until a few months ago, I haven't puked in 10 years. Now I've thrown up twice in the last six months.
  7. Um.... was it as much fun as you remember? :scared011:

  8. Been there, done that...now only 400 more macbooks to disassemble, repair, and reassemble, Stephanie, reassemble

You know the reason....they have electronics in them, thus it's technology, thus, our department....apparently

  9. Yeah, uh, Mike? The Minions really do need to work on the whole evil laugh thing. :(

sorry, was on my phone at the time...with a low battery...and decisions not yet made

overall, yes. Wife took daughter to doctor this afternoon, athletics physical for school, and stopped by to see her dad.
Actually, she stopped by his work first to borrow his car, since the window in her car was stuck in the down position. And this car has given all sorts of strange issues, but they've all been minor issues - front door speakers stopping working, electric locks no longer working (either key fob nor button - the locks work, but old-school way :D), etc. Engine and drivetrain have always been good, so it's been kept.
Well, her dad just happened to have her dream vehicle available (he's a car salesman, btw) - GMC Acadia. Price was right, good condition - and the good part, our payment actually goes down $50 a month.
So, unexpectedly we have a new (to us) vehicle. Same year as the Impala was, and a few more miles, but it's technically a truck, with better frame etc.
I'll also mention that the payment is lower because the last two vehicles we've gotten for me have been tacked on to that car loan, thus the payments had gone up a little from originally.

So, yeah....very unexpected turn, but overall, a good one

  18. Busy weekend ahead. I'm not teaching this Sunday (!), so that means I've more time to attack the never-ending 'Honey-Do' list around the house.
So, despite the predicted 94°F weather for today, I plan on doing some 'outdoor' projects. PLUS, I was able to get about 8 pounds of home-made bologna into the smoker early this morning. It should be ready by the evening. My boys love the stuff—and it's good quality too—not the pink mushy stuff of mysterious origin one finds in supermarkets.
