You know since I moved out west, I don't much hear eh any more. People here tend to talk in questions. Every time someone makes a statement, you end up hanging on, getting ready to answer a non existent question..it's kinda maddening..
So very sorry to read of your Oma's passing. How wonderful that the younger generations of your family had the opportunity to know her. Stay safe, my friend.
Sorry for your loss Justin. I never know what to say to this kind of news. On an unrelated and much more trivial note... went to mow yesterday, mower wouldn't start, so I turned the flywheel a bit by hand as per usual. Still wouldn't crank. After about half an hour of swearing and sweating, I finally gave in and took the shroud off the engine to look at the flywheel and starter. The starter gear is pretty much rounded off completely and 1/4 of the flywheel gear is just GONE and another 1/4 is laying around in the motor in pieces. Soo... it looks like I've got some shopping to do.
The Limecat is from just outside Winnipeg and he doesn't say it either. He also talks in statements, tho his wife sometimes slips into questioning intonations (originally from Calgary, IIRC).
Thank you very much, Steve. I really appreciate it! I'm de-stressing by plotting a new Novelty Week shave
There's also a predisposition towards the use of the word awesome..very heavy on the awesome. And the younger crowd seems to really like the word like. 'So like I went to the movie?? and it was like, you know, awesome?? .. Must be a some kind of California influence mixed in with the Canadiana...
Hmmm...maybe Jeff Gordon is Canadian? I jest, I jest, I know he's Californian. That was always the worst part, back in the day when he used to, you know, win races until his protege' showed up NASCAR had a new person they wanted in Victory Lane and Jimmie Johnson started winning all the races. Every post-race interview, me and dad would count how many times he would say "awesome" in the 2 minutes...minimum number we counted was 13, by the way.
Finished watching series 6 of Doctor Who last night on Netflix, so I guess it was really the first episode of series 7... the christmas special with the trees. You whovians who watch it from other sources, does series 7 hold up pretty well? Kinda saw what was coming at the end of 6... but it was still fun getting there. So, the question is... back when the doctor first meets River, she whispers something in his ear, it was pretty much implied that it was the Doctor's name. Do you still think it was? Also, do you think we'll ever see the White and Black Guardians again?
Well... actually.... Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Actually, it's at that point that she slaps him with a paternity suit.
you know... with some of the directions the writing has taken in the last 3 seasons, that wouldn't really surprise me too much. I hope they don't play up the whole Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler married aspect too much. In fact, I wonder Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler if the wedding was actually even a valid ceremony, or something the Doctor made up just to convince everyone to keep moving.
Willie did not wake up after surgery for her eye. I can't stand it. Going to get her & pray she did not suffer and Farrah will take care of her over the Rainbow Bridge. (Bombed the big meeting, but I'll get over that)
