Or products you will never use again. This is just for fun and shows that every product works differently for everyone else. My list isn't very long.

    1. Proraso Green-irritates the heck out of my skin and makes me break out.

    2. Astra SP-not a good blade for me. Gives me all sorts of ingrowns, irritation, and does a bad job for me.

    3. Israeli Personna Blades/Crystal Blades- these were poor performers to me and it always takes a long time to recover when I use them.

    4. Parker 99r- This razor was junk. Poor QC, poor finish, too heavy, too aggressive.

    5. New Erasmic Tallow Stick- This stuff is junk. I know the old stuff is very good, but this stick isn't even worthy to stand in the shadow of the old Erasmic. It does not lather worth a crap, poor glide/cushion, no slickness.

    6. Mach III, Fusion, Fusion Pro Glide- These razors were what I used before coming to DE shaving. I never got good shaves with them. The more blades I added to my shave, the worse it got.

Just one- Personna blades. They irritated the heck out of my skin. (My husband's too.) Neither one of us could even complete on e shave with them.

Are you talking about Israelis or does that include Lab/ Med Preps too?

Gillette Sensor Excel handle and razor blades. I can't go ATG without the cartridges spitting out pieces of metal. Shaving soap; I like cream better. That's about it.

I have more creams, but find myself starting to gravitate towards soaps. I use creams or shave sticks when on the move.

I've found very few products that I would never use again, but there are a few that I just couldn't deal with.

    1) Kell's Original Black Tea--I love the performance, but the scent was just beyond awful, absolute worst scent.
    2) Arko stick--good performer, but it made me physically ill.
    3) Treet Platinum blades--worst.blade.ever.
    4) Tandi's Natural Soap--worst.soap.ever.
    5) Mitchell's Wool Fat--it performs well, but I absolutely hate the scent of MWF.

I like the performance of MWF as well. I don't use it nearly as much as it deserves. I think I might end up selling or trading it to someone who will give it the attention it needs. I like Mike's more.

I remember another product I won't use again. Pacific Shaving Company Shave Cream... the stuff is horrible.

I haven't tried many products, but I just can't get Arko to work out yet. Makes me fear other soaps I want to try, like MWF and TACAC. My failure with Arko makes me wonder if I have the finesse to get a soap into a lather!

Tabac is so easy to lather up, it almost feels like a crime. MWF is iffy, I struck gold the first time I used it. I just don't use it enough.

Great idea! A living demonstration of YMMV.

    For me:

    1. Herban Cowboy shave soap. Survey says this one's an across the board failure as a shaving product.

    2. Merkur blades. They work for some people but not me.

    3. Gillette shaving balm. Causes me to break out in hive-ish bumps.

    4. Sharp brand razor blades. Just didn't work for me.

    5. 7am razor blades. Some blades were good, some weren't. Too much variation for my tastes.

    6. Dorco blades. Doesn't matter which kind, I just don't like them.

    7. Open Comb Micromatic SE. Just a touch too aggressive for me.

Williams - I know lots of people like it. I just don't.

SE blades - Just not sharp enough for me. I really want to like SE razors but the available blades won't let me.

Crabtree & Evelyn soaps - They smell great and make a nice looking lather but they aren't very slick and I like slick.

Shark SS, SuperMax Platinum, & Derby DE blades - Not sharp enough for me.

I cannot think of too many, but here are a few:

    1) Feather blades - for me they are very dangerous. I received terrible cuts from them.
    2) Tabac cream - the soap or stick are both so much better. (at least to me)
    3) L'Occitane Cade soap - dries my skin badly.
    4) Joop eau de toilette - a terrible stench.
    5) Weishi DE's - much too mild for my tough beard stubble
    6) Treet blades - too low on the longevity.

That's all I can think of now - more to come later, hopefully.

Parker 94R - way too aggressive for me, handle is worth keeping, but the head, no.

Luckily I can't think of enough bad things...so I'll list my top five instead :)

    1. Feather blades <----- Proof that God intended for us to shave, but a little too expensive to be my go-to.
    2. Astra SP blades <----- 90% as good as the Feathers, but cheap.
    3. Trumpers Rose Soap <------- Just works. Well.
    4. Truefitt No. 10 cream and balm <----- Glorious. Face-saver in cold weather, too! :love055:
    5. $1.50 porcelain bowl from WalMart <----- So much better than that $30 chrome bowl I never use :innocent

Only bad thing I can think of would be Merkur blades...which just don't work (for me), and Muhle shave cream...which actually seems like great stuff, but breaks me out.

It might help to check out some of the YouTube videos on the topic. I didn't, and later did, only to realize I wasn't doing it right. Once I got it "right" once it became much easier to replicate.

  19. Neolithium

    Neolithium I am Canadian, eh

    1. Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Shaving Bar - I can lather trouble soaps. I could not lather this stuff.
    2. Tabac - WONDERFUL lather and scent - irritates my skin :(
    3. Pinaud V.I Bay Rum - Thought it was good, then I smelled REAL bay rum and quickly started to despise it.
    4. Merkur 1904 OC - Only way it would cut my facial hair is if I superheated it first and melted them off.
