Thanks! It shot so sweet and Colt's bluing is so nice a brought another in stainless to shoot. That one stays in a gun sock locked in the safe. People talk about the cost of shaving related ADs but I had a Colt Firearm AD for years. Shaving ADs have nothing on that!
I will have to come back to post a picture. I was just talking to my uncle tonight about a ccw permit. He says "You should have a Larry Seacamp .32, stop by this weekend and I'll give you one of the two I have" Pretty sweet payback for the Super Speed, MWF and Cella I gave him. Just picked it up. Sorry no shaver in the pic.
I have a "new" razor/brush stand, so I figured this would be a good excuse to add shavers and another sidearm to the thread. (Thanks to Barrylu for the idea) Smith & Wesson J-Frame model 442 .38+P with Crimson Trace Lasergrips:
Vicious dogs. Theres been some dog attacks in my neighborhood and people here are really irresponsible even letting their pit bulls loose.
If you live in a neighborhood you really don't need to set off any guns at all, even a .22. It is small but still a deadly weapon. Feral dogs or bad dog dog owner can be a major problem. A firearm should not the action you should take unless you or someone else is in sever danger at that moment. You should contact your local animal control or if you do not have one where you live the police department should be aware of the problem. If they refuse to help try to petition the residents in your area and take the matter up at city council meeting. Vicious dog or not until at least a compliant is filed, it will look like you murder a beloved family pet with a firearm. Pretty sure you would be looking at some jail time and I'm guessing you have not had a great deal of time with firearms or hunting from the question. A .22 is not going to end a dog of a good size quickly unless it is a very well placed shot. It would be a horrible way to dispatch an animal of that size. I am speaking from a hunter's point of view here. I am not saying buy a bigger gun, not at all. In any situation a firearm should be a last resort to solve any kind of problem. Just my 2 cents.
A .22 would probably just piss off a dog... unless you shot it in the eye. Also, you have to worry about a moving target and if you miss, it could hit something that you didn't intend to hit. Would you have enough time to pull it out and get off a shot before it got too close or got tangled up with your dog? I'm not saying go unarmed, but maybe you should carry a black jack or a little league bat.
It is indeed DAO. Mr Seecamp sr. started with DAO conversions on .45s when he left Mossberg. They do make it in 380, but not 9mm. They used to make it in .25 too. All 3 calibers are the same size.
Thanks for the info "Luteplayers"...After I wrote the post I went searching for them online(sometimes I really love the internet) WOW!! There is noway I'd pay twice the price for a .380, especially for no appreciable advantage..After reading some info on the differences between the two calibers, the .32 looks better and better... Thanks again
I have a nice collection of air rifles. I recommend a nice 22 cal. RWS air rifle. It will shoot at about 1100 fps, just under the speed of sound, depending on the pellet weight. I use mine to protect my chickens and believe me, a head shot will drop a dog with no problem. Quiet too......
It's all about shot placement. It's the same with any bullet really. The only time that probably wouldn't matter is if you shot someone with a Ma Deuce.
