I guess I should have clarified, "Magnum 500 Revolver— the most powerful production revolver in the world..." when that photo was taken some years ago.
My aunt has a Ruger P95 9mm that she got for Christmas from her life partner. I really want to shoot it and see how it is. Illinois is the only state where you need a FOID card to buy ammo, and they don't have one. I have to buy ammo for them and then they reimburse me. However, money has been tight, so none of us know how it shoots.
You can get a canine pepper spray, not as strong as the good self defense sprays, but they will stop a dog, including pit bulls. My wife walks in our neighborhood. One day a pit bull was loose, and circled her, getting ever closer. One shot of the canine spray sent the dog running off in circles, rubbing his face in the grass, and whining. I'm a dog lover, and don't want to unnecessarily hurt one. But I'm not going to allow one to attack me either. BTW, the canine spray has a temporary effect, and the dog suffers no permanent injury.
OK...people enough! Save it for the dog attack threads. .357 magnum Colt King Cobra.......Sooooooo Shiny! Mirror polished stainless with factory custom combat grips!!
Weeper Warrior, you have an amazing collection of revolvers. Thanks for sharing. Although most of my handguns are semi-autos, I'm a huge wheelgun fan.
If I had a sidearm to post along my razor, I'd be posting from inside a jail cell. Only police officers and criminals* here in my country carry sidearms. I'm neither, so no pics with that combo :-D Those are some great looking weapons you show! * You can apply for a sidearm, but it costs a lot. The sidearm alone costs a fortune, and the license to own one is tricky. Also you're not allowed to walk around with it, it must either be stored in a locker or at the fire range. So it's pretty much useless, hence "no one" has one. Besides the aforementioned professions that is
I'm not sure on the exact rules, but I know there are strict procedures for a hunter, eg. carrying and storing a rifle.
The sidearm is my bedside-bump-in-the-night gun, a Smith & Wesson M&P in 357 sig, with Trijicon Night Sights and an Insight M3 Tactical Illuminator. I also have a S&W 40 caliber barrel and a Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel, so 3 calibers in 1 gun. The shaver is another one of my birth year/quarter razors, a 1971 Gillette TTO Super Adjustable Long Handle with the "mysterious" Q 1 date code.
Thanks, Weeper Warrior. Mag, yes; spring, no. S&W uses the same recoil spring (according to part #s) in the 9/40/357 sig; I'm not sure about the 45. I have (2) 40/357 mags, and (2) 9mm mags; converting between calibers is very easy. I use the 357 sig setup for home/self defense due to performance and 9mm for practice due to ammo costs of 357 sig vs. 9mm, although 9mm ammo pricing has gone through the roof.
I have 2 of the Black Beauty Long Handle razors and 1 short. Great razors! The S&W is very nice also and the extra barrels makes it extremely versatile just like the razor
The normal GI in WWI couldnt carry a sidearm. So here is my issued autostrop ( daily shaver ) next to its buddy, the m-1917 winchester also, issued in WWI and WWII
Howdy! I just might show my Merkur 38C and my 1860 Army Cap and Ball Revolver (Pietta). Always, Gene May post pics later.
Well, the US had an awkward way of carrying them, on the side of their m1910 haversack... requiring another soldier to pull it out of the sheath for them, since your arm cant extend far enough over your head to unsheath it.. Other countries had them on their belts.
