Took my time with the shave this morning after a long shower. It was nice to take my time and just enjoy the shave.

I wish that the iKon Shavecraft was a tad more aggressive but nevertheless it provided a very close and comfortable shave. The toothcomb side is more efficient that the open comb side which is about as mild as the Merkur 1904.

    Enjoy your Saturday everyone

The big Rubberset Boar brush is a reminder to me of days gone by. I can remember when these brushes were the mainstay of the Barbershops of the late 40's and 50's. Every time the Barber finished a Gentlemans haircut he would reach for his mug of lather pull out the big Rubberset brush and trim around his ears and back of the neck. The barbers of today do not do this anymore. It is a shame; as a kid, I couldn't wait until one day I would be considered a Man by virtue of having the back of my neck shaved by the Barber. Sadly, those manly "Rights of Passage" into manhood will be lost to all future generations. :(

Pre: Hot shower & face towel; Homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: G.E. Jones Shake Sharp
    Blade: Astra SP (Day 2)
    Brush: Whipped Dog 30mm Silvertip
    Lather: Mem Olive Cream; Scuttle-warmed
    Shave: 3 passes + touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, Homemade Bay Rum AS

Day Two using the Shake Sharp. I flipped the blade; same edge, just reverse side.
Cold morning here means it was time to breaks out the Becker scuttle once again. The Mem cream whipped up wonderfully (see pic below!). Such a great lather.
The Shake Sharp delivered another close, comfortable shave (DFS+). Have a blessed weekend, all!

I switched to a fresh blade today, not sure about it... didn't seem to give a great shave and I have some razor burn on my neck but no irritation. this is the third derby blade I've used and I was hoping to get through a set of 5 before trying a different brand but I'm not sure I'll make it.

    Semogue 1305 boar bristle brush,
Arko soap, lather with hot water & shave—
apply Captain's Lime for a damn fine shave!

Amazing. Another 'one of the best shaves ever' shave this morning with the reliable Arko and Fusion Proglide. I can't put that razor down. Yes, the carts are expensive, but with shaves like today's I can't help it! I'll make it work in the budget. A one pass with touch up for a near BBS, aces!

    Blade: Crystal (1)
    Brush: Frank Shaving
    Cream: Truefitt &Hill Lavender
    Aftershave Balm:Truefitt &Hill Ultimate Comfort
    Moisturiser: Fitjarsoap Shea Butter Moisturiser
    Cologne: Truefitt &Hill 1805

It’s been a while since I dipped into my samples of T&H products, so it was about time to get my feet wet in the legendary pool of Truefitt & Hill.
To be quite honest, I have never been impressed with T&H products. The scent is nice, but also a bit off. The balms are always bit too thin for my taste. They get the job done and will pass any test with flying colours. But they will never be a favourite.

Today’s shave was no exception. The cream performed nicely and together with the crystal blade it gave me a pretty good shave. But the lavender smell reminded me more of a dentist’s office, than anything lavender.
After using the balm, I felt the need to add another layer of moisturiser after half an hour or so. What’s the point with that?
I do not deny the legendary status of Truefitt & Hill, but I guess it just isn't for me J

On a happier note, the Israeli Crystal blade is now a contender to the title of Favourite Blade of the Norse.

The Crystal Blade is my favorite blade and is right up there with the Feather IMHO. At the price point of the Crystal compared with that of the Feather, the Crystal rates No. 1 blade status in my Shave Den! :happy088:

Day twelve of the federal shutdown and day twelve for my Shark Super Chrome blade. The Proraso Green lathered very well on the face with the Frank Shaving finest badger brush. The twelfth shave with the Shark was a good one with no cuts, nicks, or abrasions. Two passes and a little touch up with the Gillette New left me clean and smooth. I followed up with the Dickinson's WH and some Pinaud Clubman to leave me refreshed and feeling good. As part of my clean up ritual, I palm stropped the blade and put it away for another day. I am still hoping it will outlast the federal shutdown.

I palm-stropped a single Merkur Super blade daily and got for my troubles probably the best consecutive 12 days of shaves I think I've ever had. It sold me on the Merkur blades (yeah, I know, everyone hates the Merkur blades). I probably could've tempted fate and gotten another 3-5 days from that same blade as I felt little or no deterioration from the well-used blade. Your Shark may outlive the shutdown! ;)

4th shave with the Perma-Sharp and my 2nd shave with the Stirling Coniferous today. They did the job very well again giving a thick cushioned lather and a great shave: close, smooth, nick & burn free. I finished with Krampert’s Bay Rum.

Magnificent is the description of this shave and so enjoyable. Everything went perfectly for me with it. The Agressia Fresh cream from Bulgaria smells awesome and lathers so richly and easily and gives a light cooling effect which the L'Oreal Men Expert stuff really beefed up, and the Svoboda balm added its cooling and soothing. Although I have a cold, I can still smell the Aramis on myself - it's one of the few fragrances my wife likes on me. ;) :D
