Day fourteen of the federal shutdown and day fourteen of this Shark Super Chrome blade. That is two full weeks on this blade with more to follow. Hoping to outlive the shutdown. The Proraso Sandalwood face-lathered very well with the Parker brush. Today, I did three passes with the Gillette New and Shark Super Chrome for a near BBS shave. Finishing off with the Dickinson's WH and Pinaud Clubman left me feeling mighty fine. Cleaned up and palm-stropped the blade putting it aside for another day. Last shave of year 65.

It's been getting colder in the middle of the country so I made a place for this to stay on the counter until Spring since I'll be using it at least 1/3rd of the time.
Warm to hot water shower for me and brush soak in a one of a kind scuttle thrown by my Niece. Tabac, Tabac, Tabac...oh yeah and a Merkur 34G with a Rapira.

Very nice. I never pulled more than a few shaves from a Shark blade.

Does that mean it is your birthday tomorrow? If so, I would like to wish you a happy birthday.

I guess there are different kinds of Shark blades. These Super Chromes are chrome plated stainless steal with polymer coating. And yes, tomorrow I start my 66th trip around the sun. Thanks for the birthday wish.

Not a very pleasant shave tonight.

Prep: hot shower, TBS Maca Root Face Wash.
Brush: Vulfix Burlington. I originally lathered with my Semogue 1305, but rinsed it out and re lathered with my Burlington.
Razor: '62 Slim set on 6 for the first pass, 3 for the second.
    Blade: Polsiver SI.
    Cream: Ingram.
Post: cold water rinse, Thayer's Lavender WH, Captain's Choice Lime.

Guys, I don't know what made this shave so unpleasant. I think it might be my lathering. I originally wanted to do a super lather with Proraso White and Ingram, but the lather was too airy. I went with it at first, but a few razor strokes told me that it would be worse. I then went with the Burlington and got somewhat better results. I need to just sit down and watch some lathering videos because I'm having a newbie moment. I feel irritation on my neck and I hope that my post shave routine will clear it up by tomorrow.

    Tuesday

RazoRock Nonno Michelino face lathered with TGN 22 boar knot
    EJ89dl with Wilkinson Sword (1)
3 passes, alum and finish with Proraso aftershave

The Nonno Michelino is a sandalwood soap, but I didn't care for the scent. I like the TOBS and Proraso sandalwood scents more. It lathered easily and well.

I shaved quite fast this morning but somehow I still managed a BBS without any issues whatsoever. This new version of Proraso Green cream is simply awesome - so much rich lather and skincare with that famous menthol cooling that the Svoboda balm and Barbon intensify. The Rapira blades are apparently perfect for me. ;) :D

    hot shower
    Maggard Lime PSO
    Parker 80R
    Merkur Super Platinum (4)
    VDH boar
GFT Extract of Limes cream (in the scuttle)
    Alum
    Thayer's alcohol free unscented w/aloe
    T&H West Indian Limes cologne

LOL - Lots of Lime - Shave number 4 with the Merkur and it won't be making it through the full five shave test - Tried hard to give it a fair shake but I just can't get a great shave with this blade. We'll save the rest and try them sometime in a different razor. Great lather with the GFT especially after it warms up in the scuttle.

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: Weishi 9306
Blade: Derby Extra Stainless Steel (3)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Cream: Musgo Real Classic
    Passes: 2 (WTG, ATG)
    Post: hot water

I decided to mix it up today and throw an ATG pass into the mix. I was a little leery about back to back shave days after murdering my neck last time, but I was one less pass with yesterday's shave... I stayed with the two passes and it once again worked out well, resulting in a borderline DFS. There was slight irritation during the shave but none a half hour later and no razor burn I can see.

I didn't seem to have much audible feedback on the ATG pass, especially the neck, is this normal?
