    Prep: FitjarSoap Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Merkur HD
    Blade: Sputnik
    Brush: Frank Shaving Chubby Badger
    Soap: D.R Harris Marlborough
    Aftershave: D.R Harris Marlborough
Moisturiser: The Shave Den's Aftershave Milk - Cedar Wood scented

Recently I received a few samples from Gary’s Sample Store, and one of these was a sample of the D.R Harris Marlborough soap. And since this soap is based on what I believe is cedar wood, which again is based on a tree that hopefully grows in a forest. It should make me qualified to participate in the current theme week. If not, please don’t tell anyone.

This was my first use of the Sputnik blade, and what a pleasure it was. Very comfortable blade and I do not rule out a larger purchase on a later date.

This combination was enough to give me the best shave of the week.

A walk in the woods today with the TOBS Sandalwood SC. The Frank Shaving brush did an excellent job with the face-lathering. Nice woodsy smell. The Merkur slant made short work of my beard in two passes and touch ups. Finished off with Dickinson's WH and Pinaud Clubman AS for a near BBS shave. Nice.

    Wednesday

Face washed with L'Oreal Men Expert "Hydra Energy" and scrubbed with warm rough washcloth.
Mühle R89 coupled with BIC Super Chrome.
Speick, grated soap, whipped with Semogue 1520 boar in Steve Woodhead shallow mug.
Above jawline WTG/XTG/ATG, below jawline WTG/WTG/WTG.
Ajanta alum applied for 1 minute, then rinsed off with cold water.
Finished off with Nivea for Men Face Cream.

I'm on a new path. I've been getting some red dots on my lower jawline for some time, on/off actually throughout my wet shaving era. I've always struggled with ATG below my jawline, it's been a PITA and, frankly spoken, nothing I've looked forward to in each shave.
So for the next time I only do WTG shaves on that area. Of course it doesn't get as smooth as normal, but rather that than the red areas. It looks like ingrown, but perhaps it isn't. I moist my face with Nivea's face cream, leaving the after shave balm in the drawer for the time being. To see how that goes. Already now I can see less redness, so perhaps the approach works. I hope. I'd really love to do at least XTG on the trouble-area as it gives me an acceptable close shave, but I'll have to wait a few days first.

Pretty nice shave, all factors included :)

Weepy BBS. I definitely got a great close shave, but I also got a few weepers and some irritation. I like the audible feedback from this razor, but my technique might not be ready yet. I get great shaves from my Merkur 33c without weepers or irritation, so I'm sticking with that for a while.
    Have a great Wednesday!

Prep: Hot shower, Crown Co. Supreme Glide Pre-shave Lotion
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Oakmoss Glycerin-in-a-jar
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Dorco-301 (4)
    Passes: WTG, XTG. ATG
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by ELdO

My lather wasn't quite as luxurious today as yesterday, but it was still vastly improved over previous attempts. The Dorco started to drag a little bit by the ATG pass, so it will be replaced tomorrow. Minor redness in a couple of spots is another indicator that a change is due, but I got a generally BBS shave all around.

Prep: Hot shower with Dirigo Blue Cedarwood shower soap, Dirigo Blue Aroostook PSO

Soap: TSD Oak Leaves and Acorns

Blade: Schick, day 3, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Dickenson's WH, B&BW Oak
    'Stache Wax: Dirigo Blue

Not really liking the triangle shape of the handle on the PAL. Just a bit awkward. Also it's a bit long and tapers, not really providing a comfortable end as I like to place a finger under the handle of the razor when I hold it.

    Not a bad shave, though.

A great BBS shave this morning without any real effort because my Super Speed/Rapira combo is so good. The Sanders soap should now be considered vintage because it apparently is no longer in production. It's from Holland, and it has a great traditional scent and lather. I'll admit that its countryman De Vergulde Hand is better in the skincare department, but this stuff is still good enough. Man, do I ever love the Booster Mosswood! ;) :D

With every use of the Shavecraft I am liking it more and more. It is a mild razor and to be honest at first I thought that it may be too mild for my taste. After a few uses under my chin, I can say confidently that it is a keeper. Mild and efficient. No need for a blade on a stick every day.

Really enjoyed the MdC today but must admit, I missed the Petal Pusher Fancies Black Tea. I did not just say that. I will deny it ;)

    Enjoy your Wednesday everyone.

2nd shave with the Personna Lab paired with Stirling Coniferous today. I had a MUCH better shave today with the second Lab: very close, nick & burn free. The first Lab must have been that elusive bad blade that pops up once in a while. I finished with a Barbon blast.

    b. RAZOR: Merkur Futur (set@2)
    c. BLADE: Merkur Super

Probably could have skipped shaving today thanks to yesterday's close shave. Set the Futur to '2' and had a gentle 'smoothing out' of any rough spots.

Haven't seen you post a pic with your scuttle in a while, did you switch over to face lathering instead?

Yeah, almost exclusive face latherer now. Only used the scuttle once or twice in the last couple years.

This was my first time using a Crystal blade. These blades were PIF'd to me by another member. I had planned to wait until the weekend to try it so I could take my time, but I just couldn't wait. It gave me a great BBS shave. I got a little irritation, but that was all my fault. Definitely bad technique.

I'm thinking a Futur may be in my future. (I know, bad pun.). My wife doesn't know it yet, but this may be her Christmas present to me. I'm also looking at the Progress. Did you consider the Progress? If so, what made you decide on the Futur?
