    Razor: 2013 Muhle R41
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (D1)
Brush: WD 24mm Tulip Handle w silvertip
Pre: Musgo Real Lime Basil Oil Soap
Soap: Le Père Lucien Savon du Barbier
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Myrsol F/Extra

Today tried out the 2013 R41 for the first time and it is less aggressive that the 2011 model. The 2011 irritated my face to no end so I sold it just before the 2013 rolled off the press. Today, loaded up with a new Silver Blue my shave was BBS with only two passes and no weepers. Monster bloc alum produced no sting so aggressive and smooth so I think this 2013 R41 is a keeper.

    Gillette Fusion Proglide Power
    Proglide cartridge (1)
Omega 20102 Pro boar bristle brush,
Arko soap, lather with hot water—
    Witch Hazel
    Family Dollar Spice aftershave

Wow, another heavenly smooth close shave. Love this kit! The Family Spice is one of my favorites, smells so nostalgic. The Arko provides one of the most soothing after-shave sensations on the face. Aces!

    @ Holyrollah - Jasman - ram57. Thanks Guys!
Yep Jasman, sometimes those variant genes slip into the DNA and one of those round ones pops out! :D

BTW, that's the one and only New Straight razor I have ever bought; all the others are vintage.
These blades are actually NOS from the 1950's that were discovered in one of the Solingen Razor Works warehouses of those manufacturers that closed their doors back in the fifties. They were ground by one of the last master grinders from the old Solingen master grinders and made available under the generic Solingen brand as new razors. (Newly manufactured; ground and scaled) I purchased this razor a few years ago and when I last looked I couldn't find the website that was selling them anymore so I guess they are all gone. :(

The Edwin Jagger DE89 is so elegant and such a great shaver, I actually used mine yesterday at the beginning of my shave to mow some stubborn chin stubble. A wonderful shaving maching it is! Aces!

One of my tenants took off in the middle of the night last year and guess where he was found. Around the corner trying to rent an apartment in a building which my brother-in-law owns! Seriously, I'm a landlord who will never skimp on heat and hot water so Monkeylord would be guaranteed nice, hot showers and shaves every day! ;)

Before I let them both go, I began using my Slim & Fatboy set to wide open and found I liked them both best at that setting. With a new blade.

    Another great shave!

Prep: cold face wash with African Black Soap, Proraso Green Crema pre Barba
    Cream: TOBS Jermyn Street
    Brush: HIS Synthetic
    Razor: Maggard m10
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock sharp edge yellow (2)
AS: TSD Signature Scent AS Milk

DFS. My first shave with the HIS and I'm very impressed! This thing makes loads of lather, and I mean loads! I got almost twice as much from the same amount of product I use with my Parker. I could have made nine passes. I made three and lathered my face again while I cleaned up the counter. The AS milk is a nice product, my face feels smooth and ready to go.
This is my HIS Synthetic next to my Parker Synthetic... The HIS is much bigger and more dense, which is a very good thing.

Except for one very small weeper which healed right away I would rate this as a perfect BBS shave. As always, my 1950s Super Speed gives me unbeatable performance and such comfort and efficiency. It felt really nice to use the Gillette Menthol cream - it's icy-cold lather really woke me up. The Svoboda balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo made the end of this shave a delight. ;) :D

Have a great weekend, folks! :)

Very nice shave this morning. I'll give a brief mini review of Synergy Shaving Soap for those that are interested. The scent I ordered is vanilla/vetiver, I'm o.k. with it. I'd say mostly vanilla with just a bit of vetiver to ground the scent. Unlike many artisan soaps, this soap produces a prolific lather readily. It's easy to get it too thick. I had a lather bowl near by this morning just in case but I hit it right face lathering and there was no need for the bowl. My shaves have been nickless so protection and slickness are there. Post shave skin care is very good. This is a veg soap which holds no attraction to me on that regard but I don't consider it a deficit either, a good soap is a good soap no matter what it's made of. I look forward to playing around with this soap a little more. Have a good one.

    Cream: Musgo Real Classic
    Passes: 3 (WTG, XTG, ATG)
Post: cold water, alum, Proraso blue cream

Mixed feelings about this blade. It gives a great shave, but a fair bit of hurt too. I'm wondering if it is either I have a bad bade or it is my technique. I only have three shaves invested into the blade, but I think I will swap it out for a fresh one.
