  4. I use a teapot so I have boiling water, then I also use it to make lather. I find QCS creams hold up the best under extreme heat. For hot lather on a cold day QCS is my first choice. I also find Castle Forbes holds up well too.

I thought so to kicked it around for a few minutes and caved in, on the other forum they quickly go for $20 more than that.

@dcc: your Gillette New Deluxe is absolutely wonderful. Is it more on the aggressive side (like R41) or Gillette-like on the mild side?!

  10. My dad picked these up for me at a local antique mall; a 1940 (I think) Thick Handle Tech Safety Razor & Case, and a Standard Mfg Co "5 second" Sharpener:

The box and razor are both in good shape, although the blades aren't the ones that came with it.

I haven't tried the sharpener yet. I'll try a few of my used carbon steel blades in it this weekend.
  11. Thanks to my good friend Ryan Bales I already have a new:

1.Weber with classic handle! Looks great!

  14. Awaiting delivery of new SS and Badger hair brush $(KGrHqZ,!qIF!OBdd6LfBQVvQKDpuw~~60_12.JPG to replace a "Chrome" and Boar hair Omega brush that i bought THINKING it was at least some kind of metal beneath the "chrome plating" $(KGrHqMOKi0E31R-o1GzBOHY(CMwG!~~_12.JPG but alas it is pure plastic and as you guys may remember, there is little to no plastic welcome in my shave den. I strive for Quality and love all the "Old School" materials like Ceramic/Glass, Timber(mainly with no paint to cover the beauty), Metals (precious and common), Bone, and I love to see carved and engraved items using the aforementioned materials, It reeks of old world charm and opulence.
Perhaps I was a king in a previous life or maybe a Dragon who is missing his pile of precious treasure to sit and marvel upon.
I have also started leaving hints for Xmas as I am aiming at A Kent Badger Brush in one of those lovely presentation cases to take pride of place in my "den"

  16. The one on the left is awesome. Is that one of those limited edition Semogue's from the Portuguese forum?
  17. Yes, that's the one. This one is the Mix (Mistura) brush, 50% badger and 50% boar. Very smooth and with a great backbone! ;)
