It was a great shave today with Kiss My Face Cool Mint leading the way. It lathered well with the Parker pure badger brush for two passes and touch-ups with the Schick adjustable. The KMF is very cool, and the cool continues. Finished off with the Thayers Cucumber WH and Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. Feeling clean and refreshed.

Oh my God. Tonight's shave... wow. Just wow. You'll see why soon.

Prep: hot shower, L'Oreal Men Science Face Wash, TBS Maca Root Face Scrub.
    Brush: Turkish #6 Brush.
Razor: '62 Gillette Slim set to 6 for the first pass, 3 for the second.
    Blade: Personna Lab.
Soap: Stirling Glacial... stay tuned for more.
Post: cold water rinse, C.C. Bay Rum, Phyto Balm.

Most of this summary will be dedicated to Stirling Glacial. I thought it couldn't get any colder than Palmolive Menthol shave cream, or TSD ISZ soap. Well I was wrong, Stirling seriously made me shiver. This soap is reportedly colder than QCS Vostok, Yeti Snot, TSD ISZ, and whatever menthol bombs I have missed. When I lathered up, I instantly felt the freeze when I started lathering on the soap. It made my eyes water and my nose ran... it was a slight challenge trying to keep snot out of the lather... haha. I had trouble initially because I think I didn't load enough soap on the brush. I'll get it down pat soon. If you have used Stirling Soap before, you know that Rod's soaps have excellent skincare... this was no exception. I had pretty slick lather that helped the razor glide. My face felt tingly and cold for at least 15-20 minutes after the shave. The CC Bay Rum intensified the tingling. There was no burn though. I guess that means I got a good shave.

I use to be a love all the Clinique Men stuff. They have some great products. I ran out of every thing and the closest store that sells it now is a 2 1/5 hour drive for me. Still have the Chemistry cologne, though. Love it!

Congratulations to the Lemon Ice soap - after trying and trying it's won a Cracky Wacky Ticky Tacky Freeze Award. Oh yes, this soap can freeze your face off and it smells really nice. The only thing it needs is a little more skincare, but other than that it's fine. Many thanks to my dear friend Dmitry who sent me this wonderful Svoboda balm, and many thanks as well to my good friend Tiberiu in Romania for sending me the Barbon aftershave which I love so much! ;) :D

    Thursday:
    hot shower
    Shave Secret PSO
    Parker 80R
    Lord Platinum (4) 2+passes
    VDH boar
LA Santa Monica Bay Rum soap (sample) in the scuttle
    alum
    Old Spice Classic AS

Fourth and final shave with the Lord Platinum. This blade pairs extremely well for me in the 80R despite the fact that it'll never be more than a three shave blade. The big plus for me (besides an excellent shave) is that it does the job without a third pass which works great on a weekday when I'm watching the clock. Got a couple weepers in the moustache area trying to do the final touch up so I knew that it was time to send it to the blade bank. Can't say enough good things about the Los Angeles Shaving Soap Company's products. Absolutely terrific lather from only a wee bit of soap so I'll be picking up some full size jars very soon.

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Barbershop Bath Soap
    Soap: RazoRock XX
    Razor: ’66 Gillette Slim “6”
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel (4)
    Brush: Omega 6192 Pure Badger
    Aftershave: TSD Signature-Bay Rum Blend

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

4th shave with the Rapira Swedish SS in the Slim. I tried another new soap for the first time today, RazoRock XX. The RR XX has a great scent and produced a good, smooth, easy lather. The Rapira has done very well through all 4 shaves with the Slim on “6”. No tugging, just nice close, nick & burn free shaves. I finished with TSD Signature Bay Rum Blend w/menthol. My face feels great.

Prep: Warm shower, Homemade Cedarwood PSO
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue (2)
    Soap: RazoRock Nonno Michelino
    Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair
    Post: Witch Hazel
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

Excellent shave today. I'm going to have to try out more RazoRock products. If the rest of them are as good as the Nonno Michelino, I don't see any reason to buy the high priced soaps.

    Have a great day!

    Brush: Beeline Boar
Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Glycerin
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (3, 4, 5)
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Vanishing Menthol ASB
Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes

Who just had his best shave in memory? This guy! I decided to bowl lather this morning because it's marginally easier for me to get good cushion from the lather produced that way, and my face had been feeling a little beat up from the Astra. The microbeads in my new (cheap, store brand) face wash did a great job both softening my whiskers and smoothing out my face; the shaving soap was as luxurious as ever; the Bic continues to be my most consistent performer. The primary reason I reached for the Lucky Tiger today was the amount of recent chatter I've seen about this or that new mentholated shave product, and my face is sufficiently frozen as a result. It's also BBS and irritation-free.

    Brush: HIS Synthetic
    Razor: Maggard m10
    Blade: Gillette 7 OC yellow
Post: cool rinse, Krampert's Finest Acadian Bay Rum

DFS. I used the last of my Krampert's bay rum today. I'll miss it until I can get a refill. I really enjoy the scent and skin feeling it provides. Perhaps I'll try Captain's Choice next, but it's hard not to just order a refill right now! My shave was smooth and easy with the MR10 breezing through the creamy TOBS lather. My face feels great, and I can still catch a whiff of bay rum three hours later.

    Have a great Thursday men.
