I'm betting HBO has pressure on him to ensure he finishes Game of Thrones.

Has anyone else read, "Ready Player One"? I loved it and the author has a new book coming out, "Armada"

From what I have read, he has given them a heads up on what he has planned for the sequels. So if he doesn't make it, should happen to die (he is only in his sixties, right?) or anything else unforeseen they ought to have enough pointers to go on without him.
But I guess it wouldn't be the same.

He may be only in his 60's but he does not appear to be, to put it delicately, the picture of health. I really, really want him to finish. I like the television series, but LOVE the books. I would be very disappointed if I had to find out the end of the story through HBO's filter, rather than from the source.

That being said, I don't know how you can rush this. I think he is probably writing about as fast as he can while keeping the standards up.

Ready Player One is on my to read list. I have not read it yet but I desperately want to. When I get to it I suspect I will finish it quickly.

Yup. He sure isn't. I don't like the HBO adaptation and I'm worried that should he not be able to finish, anyone they would hire would pander to popular opinion. What I love about the books is that they ignore what's popular

Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

Yeah, he almost gets super powers as the series goes on. I thought it became a bit of a stretch. I guess I prefer more fallible main characters, with personal demons and character flaws. I really enjoyed Patrick Rothfuss' first book of the trilogy, but the second was a bit of a disappointment.

I'm reading "Born Standing Up," by Steve Martin. It's very interesting, I'm learning a lot about a favorite comedian of mine.

Just finished the latest of the 'Killing' series by Bill O'Reilly, "Killing Jesus" a '...historical account of the last days of Jesus."
Some interesting historical details, but a number of noticeably glaring errors. An easy read.

I'm a bit ADD with books so usually working on 2 or 3 at a time.

At the moment I'm reading "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross, "Stand in the Door!" (wartime history of the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion), and "SIP - Understanding the Session Initiation Protocol".

That last one.......It's a 400 page cure for insomnia!

Currently reading "White Fire," the latest Pendergast novel from Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston. I've been reading that series since "Relic." Fantastic stuff. :D
