€39 in Paris….which equals $53 US. So they are not giving it away over there either. ;)
Of course, she bought in a swank Parisian razor shop, so prices may be more in line with the AOS stores here ($$$).

Another Ebay purchase. The bowl is an old Renleigh bowl that you can use as an ashtray when you're done with the soap. I have no idea who made the soap, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Renleigh. Other pictures I've found of this bowl show a puck with the Renleigh name stamped in it, and these pucks don't fit well in the bowl. I whipped up a test lather of one puck and lather was pretty good. I think it will get better with continued use, but I won't be using it for a while.

I got 2 Rolls Razors (an Imperial No2 & a Viscount) and a Merkur Solingen in the mail today (package deal from eBay). The Rolls have the boxes and paperwork (instructions, price tag, inspection tag, etc) and the Solingen is very nice and in a leather carry case. RAD has assumed control. ;)

Notice the date written on the instructions for the Imperial - love that it gives me an idea when it was purchased.

$13.95 - these were expensive back then

    And the Solingen

My first Haul-type purchase, and I couldn't be happier. Can't wait to clean them up, and try them. Hope the picture count wasn't overload - someone say something if it is too much, and I'll keep it simpler in the future.

All in all, a really good day - what is this "Penguin Dance" I'm hearing about...I feel like it might be appropriate right about now...

Being your grandfather's makes them priceless...I'd rather have items handed down from my ancestors than anything I purchased - it's a connection back to those you came from...and nothing replaces a connection like that.

Yes, they are priceless and I'm very thankful to have them. The idea of using them makes me feel like I am carrying on a family tradition.

I picked up some Wilkinson Sword's this weekend. The packages have "The Battle of Waterloo" on the front (sorry, no pics yet), and a form on the back for ordering copies of the print. Does anyone know how old they might be? Thanks.

Thanks for the info, guys. I found all of the TTO's in the same case, all marked at $5 each; needless to say, I grabbed them all. I knew that was a steal on the Fat Boys, and I knew that I did not have ones like the other 2 in my collection. I did not "recognize" the Rocket, but I did notice the "Made in England" stamp once I removed some soap scum.

Has anyone tried using any Old Spice soap that has obviously been sitting (sealed) for decades? Is it shave worthy?

You got all those razors for $5 each?!?!? I'm insanely jealous and I think you can afford to buy some new soap.:shaver

Seriously, if I had 2 pucks I might try one but I don't think I could break the seal if I only had one. Nice haul!

    Sure is a nice find!
Shaved with it this morning, a very nice and mild BBS shave, it was only after 15 minutes after the shave that I felt some burn coming up... too much pressure? I'll try the PolSilver instead of the Voskhod tomorrow.

If it is, do you think he'll pull some strings to get me a Kindle Fire HDX for Christmas?

Mine was Satin Black with flat red Testors for the numbers. I did the number myself, it is easy to do.

I have five off getting coated now! No TTOs just three pieces, LC NEW should be nice looking, though.
