    Blade: Astra SP (day 3)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Cream: Musgo Real Classic
    Passes: 2 (WTG x2, XTG)
    Post: cold water, Proraso blue

Switched back to the Gillette and Musgo Real today, for a great shave. No irritation or cuts. I also had a great lather, after starting with a wetter brush then normal...

    hot shower
    ShaveSecret PSO
    Gillette FatBoy 2++ passes (9)
    Lord Platinum (1)
    VDH boar
Coate's Superior Sandalwood cream in a warm mug
    Thayer's unscented with Aloe
    alum
    EJ Sandalwood AS lotion
    Loreal aftershavesuncreensensitiveskinsomethinorothercantrememberwhatitscalled

Should have been happy with a nice 2 pass shave with touch up but I decided to chase the baby even though the wind chill is below zero at the moment. Ended up with a couple weepers before having enough sense to quit and decided to put on a Loreal product that I've used in the summer that's got sunscreen in it so we'll see how I do in the wind today. Another fantastic slather of lather with the Coate's product today. Not the same skin sensation as the Tea Tree so I'm not compelled to buy a case of it but a very good product nonetheless.

    Tuesday:

Prep: Healthy Accents Daily Renewal Cleanser, Hot Shower, Crown Shaving Co. Preshave Lotion
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: VDH Unscented
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bolzano (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (3, 4)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Vanishing Menthol ASB

It had been a long time since I last reached for the VDH soap, so I went with it this morning, producing enough lather for about 3 of us to use comfortably. I'm still working on the learning curve of the FaTip's aggressiveness, apparently, as I caught a couple of small weepers on my upper lip. Because, in my experience, the VDH isn't quite as moisturizing as the Ginger's Garden soaps, I wanted to see if the Lucky Tiger would absorb any better this morning than it did yesterday with the Ginger's Garden precursor; it didn't. Ah, well. I still got a DFS+ shave out of the deal in two passes.

    TUESDAY
Prep: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Face Scrub, Citrus PSO
    Razor: M. E. Reppenhagen Diamondine#7
    Strop: 3" Whipped Dog
    Brush: Omega 626 Silvertip
    Lather: Michell's Woof Fat, scuttle-warmed
Shave: Two passes, plus DE touch-up
Post: Rinse, Alum block, Black River Bay rum & Pre De Provence balm

First go with a new razor this morning. Supposedly 'shave ready,' but some slight tugging may mean I need to work on the edge a bit more.
Still a nice shave, and a quick touch-up with the Futur finished the deal!
    Have a great Tuesday!

    Lather: TSD unscented wheat cream
Brush: Oscar11 custom with HIS knot
    Razor: Gillette fat handled Tech
    Blade: Astra SP

Excellent shave this morning! Great lather, comfortable smooth shave. The coffee was OK, not outstanding, but it was hard to pass up when I was in IKEA last night.

    Mike,

Love this brush!! Can you compare the H.I.S knot to the Muhle STF V2? I would like your take on them?

    Thanks and Best to you,

Today was shave number 2 with the Cobra Classic. Today's shave went much smoother than yesterday. The main reasons being I had a better grip on the razor, I didn't fear the blade, and I found the sweet spot for a good chunk of my shave. Being more confident in my technique made worlds of difference! Because of that I am liking the razor more and more! If I were to compare it to another SE razor, I would probably say it resembles either an Autostrop (closed comb) or Schick Injector L-type. It just has a very smooth feel to it and rarely do I ever really feel the blade. That mostly happens when going across my chin or upper lip...other than that it is just smooth sailing.
One thing is for sure, I am very excited about the prospect of the shaves getting even better with this razor.
I can honestly see why so many people love it!

I love my Aeropress! I keep it at the office & use beans ground at home. Some co-workers think I'm doing some sort of science experiment, but they all drink drip Folgers, so consider the source. ;)
I also use the stainless filter vs the supplied paper filters = more oil & flavor. :happy088:

    Luke,

Glad the shaves are getting better. Mine are too. I got too careless with the Cobra last week and had to take a break but I am back using it again and all is well. Lesson learned take my time until I get the hang of it.

Still have the frozen waterlines so I did my shave with a half cup of water this morning. (Rationing the emergency water.) Went with the Old Type as I was reminded of the doughboys in the trenches of WWI. I'm sure there were times when they used their OT's in the trenches with minimal resources. I have to figure something out today as this isn't letting up for a few more days. Now I know how the pioneers lived but....I have the inter-net! :D

No kidding! Yesterday I knicked my neck (Adam's apple) because I went too quick and assumed I had the right angle. :S. Today I took my time in that area...

I hope the Kai blades continue to work for you! I'll be happy I hear a comparison of them to the feather pros, after you use them a bit longer.

It's been a long time since I used either Speick or Ralon, both smell like a geriatrics hospital but both are wonderful on your face. The Ralon has quite a bite when you first apply it but then the combined strength of camphor, boric acid and menthol kick in and take your face to smelly bliss :D
All in all a great three pass shave , I found the Fatip working even better with a few days of stubble :)

    Jesse,

Thanks! Oscar11 (Steve) does great work!

I have used both Mühle STF v1 and v2 brushes. They are excellent, but they have more backbone and to me feel more scrubby or scritchy than the HIS knots. The HIS knots are softer, but their shape is not optimal. With use, the fibers fan out a bit and get better.

I recently acquired a Frank Shaving Pur Tech brush, which feels very similar to the Mühle STF. It is a bit scritchy for my face.
