Luke...You were right! For now at least...I went in to pick up my soaps today and I got the XXX, but his shipment of ABCBA got stopped by customs! Last time it happened, took like 6 weeks. Maybe then I'll get to try it out. But did get the XXX and a bottle of Don Marco ASB. The scent on the XXX is amazing, can't wait to try it out.
A few very good things arrived today: You can´t have enough of a good Pomade. I love the SGB as well as the Murray´s Super Light. Wonderful!!! In the next times i will give the Royal Crown a test. I never used this one before.The same with the Osage Rub...i´m very curious if it is really that freeeeeeeezy.
More goodies arrived at the office today that I probably didn't need, but I am excited to try... A variety of soaps & creams from Stirling & Italian Barber Some '444' methol post-shave balm which I've heard much about; Arko Ice mint—another menthol minty cream, and the 'barber-shop' scented XXX from RazoRock. Plus an alum block to last a lifetime... From Stirling, a nice range: A great aroma emanated from the box; the distinct anise (black licorice) scent from the Black Ice. A generous sample of Frozen Tundra included. The Almond Creme smells good enough to eat; the Beer scent reminds me of my old college dorm room on Monday mornings...
Did you get to catch a whiff of the XXX yet? I just picked some up yesterday. It's on deck for tomorrow morning. I can't wait, smells fantastic and has great performance reviews...Looks like a good haul to me!
Chris, I did take a sniff of all the samples (olfactory overload!), including the XXX. My first impression of the XXX scent isn't so much 'barber shop' as 'Incense Boutique in the mall'. It is clean smelling, and maybe I'm just suffering from too many aromas wafting from the collection. I look forward to trying it!
Yeah...I would describe it more as a combination between a clean fresh sea breeze citrus combined with barber shop to a lesser extent. A great combo, at least in the jar. I'll post my initial impressions in the SOTD tomorrow...
Got this in the mail today. Santa is bringing me a big tin of the Synergy Cavendish so I figured I needed the matching accessories. And I picked this up at an antique shop. Don't ask me why, it was only 5 bucks, okay? I probably won't even clean it up and it'll just go in the drawer. It's a future collectible, yeah, that's what it is, an investment.
