I just got my first tub in the mail last week, and without the old scent to compare it to, I love the scent. I also recieved the RazoRock aftershave wax, and love that scent as well.
Finally used mine today and thought the scent is great, but I never used the other XXX as it was gone before I began wet shaving.
I have the original XXX and now the XXX-2. I think the performance of the XXX-2 is better than the original, but the scent of the original is better than the XXX-2. Either way, XXX-2 is everything you'd expect from RR.
I haven't smelled the new one, but I don't like the original one that I have. It will actually be going up in the BST soon.
Some may just find its way into your mailbox soon...along with some ABCBA! Don't get too excited they are only small samples... The scent is excellent, sort of like a light sea breeze citrus. It's fresh and clean and very pleasant. The scent is strong enough to notice and enjoy, but not strong enough to be overpowering. Really enjoy the tallow formulation. Sorry, can't compare with the original,I never tried it.
