1. Hmm, the google oracle says the VSA is the Vehicle Stability Assist system. And, the TPMS is the Tire Pressure Management System. Neither of those should have anything to do with it not starting. However, it may make since as to the deceleration though. My Passat has stability control for ice and water, it will decelerate automatically under certain circumstances. I wonder if you have a bad tire or something...

  2. Thanks for the support, guys!

Yeah, the person I called to come help me on the side of the road isn't a pro, but can troubleshoot and fix cars pretty well. For anything beyond that, it goes to our buddy's house to get worked on, he's closer to a pro. Pretty much the only thing he couldn't fix is a computer problem.

It's in good hands. I think the frustration is the worst part. I already had a plateful of problems to deal with. I didn't really need another. February will be 2 yrs I've had this vehicle. All my other friends that have Hondas haven't had to deal with these problems. And everyone seems to have Hondas around me. It's part of the reason I went with the Odyssey.
  3. Ahhh, you've discovered the spiderweb requiring untangling to see where all the puzzle pieces fit exactly. ;)

Trust me, a smartphone is a good thing when you are stuck on the side of the road, bored, for two and a half hours.
  4. Did you see the Class Action Lawsuit? I was getting ready to PM you a link. Apparently the 05's were known for slamming on brakes by themselves at one point. I think I might would ask about that if nothing else cause that would suck...

Quick, let me edit this. I just realized that this is like looking at WebMD when you don't feel good and then thinking you have two days to live because you come up with 6 horrible fatal illnesses over something stupid.

    Hopefully it's just something simple.
  5. I don't think I did see anything regarding a Class Action Lawsuit.

Here is the list of 2005 Odyssey Technical Service Bulletins, if anyone wants to look those over.
I have the first in that list, peeling paint. When I took it to one delaership they ran my number and said I didn't have any recalls that applied to my vehicle, evn with the VIN. They lied, though.
I called the dealership in the next city over, and they ran my VIN through the computer and said if I went and got a quote from the paint shop, they'd call Honda and see what they would do. Honda was willing to pay half, $1000.

So I have no clue what recalls were handled and which weren't, before I bought the vehicle. Think I'll call the good Honda dealership tomorrow, and see what I can find out. Of course, at this point I don't expect to get any sort of full satisfactory reply from Honda itself, but I might find out some helpful info.

This is my first Honda, and I have never had so much trouble out of a vehicle before. This might be my last Honda.
  6. The Minions and the Penguinators had another visit the last couple nights. They watched Despicable Me 2 and laughed their butts off. But, man is the place a mess now! Yikes. And poor Kevin!

Santa doesn't like the Penguinators, I think.

  11. Thanks Swarden, not exactly what I had in mind but... I'm totally good with that too. I'm such a softy for cartoons, especially the old ones.

  13. Found out the school isn't going to have a football team next year. I'm kind of sad about that. I've really been trying to embrace the whole announcing thing this year, and even though I've still got basketball games to announce, it was the football games that gave me the most room to "play" and have a little fun with the job. I understand the decision, but I'm still a little bummed.
  14. I know that will leave a hole in your fall schedule. I had the opportunity to work sidelines for a few seasons, filming games for a couple of local teams' broadcasts. That's such a great environment and I still miss it.

  17. I had no feeling in the tips of my fingers for about 6 years after graduating. Our practical electronics class did mil and med spec soldering and I never found tweezers or forceps to be helpful. I guess the heat transfer from an 800F soldering pencil will kill the nerve endings after a while. I have gotten most of it back now but, I still refuse to use forceps and stuff, I just don't solder as many connectors as I used to. By the way, I love the smell of rosin core solder in the morning .
