Menthol Monday: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Permasharp Egyptian Ingram Blue SC 444 AS Balm Osage Rub AS Dolce & Gabbana EdT I guarantee a frozen face to anybody who uses a set-up like this. The L'Oreal wash is colder than a lot of guys seem to think if it's left on the face for a few minutes. The Egyptian Ingram Blue cream has the same nice minty/cinnamon kind of scent as the British version with the identical rich, easy-to-create lather but the menthol effect is definitely stronger and longer-lasting. The 444 balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo might be too much for someone who cannot handle strong menthol.
No pictures folks - sorry, because I'm using my laptop. Menthol Monday: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Permasharp Stirling Black Ice SS Anherb AS Conditioner Osage Rub AS Dolce & Gabbana EdT A hell of a nice face-freezing shaving arrangement for a Menthol Monday. The Black Ice soap with its nice black licorice scent, rich lather, and its good cooling effect feels real good. I'd rate it a small step down from the MITA soap in freezing, but the skincare is just as soothing and gentle. I love how cold and moisturizing the Anherb conditioner is, and how can I have an aftershave rotation without the Rubby Dubby Doo?
Menthol Monday: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Permasharp Italian Palmolive Menthol SC 444 AS Balm Barbon AS Aramis Stick Deodorant Aramis EdT Although this set-up is considerably milder than the one I used today, it's still very cold. The L'Oreal facial wash has more than enough menthol in it, and the Palmolive Menthol cream is a very good face-freezer in its own right. With the 444 balm you not only get a tremendous cooling sensation, you get a lot of moisturizing and with the Barbon aftershave you freeze your face off and you also smell great!
Is the Rubby Dubby Doo the Osage Rub? Or something not pictured? And if so, where can I get it? Thanks
Menthol Monday! Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Permasharp Yeti Snot SS Diana Sport AS Balm Osage Rub AS Dolce & Gabbana EdT The best way to describe this set-up is like this - it's the Mother of All Menthol Freezes, because the Gatsby facial wash takes hold as soon as it's on your face, and if you leave it on for a bit it gets even colder. The Yeti Snot soap is equally as cold as the Stirling Glacial with the same ultra-intense freezing sensation which makes your eyes start tearing. The lather is not the thickest, but it's still quite rich and protective and slick. The Diana balm is about as cold as the Rubby Dubby Doo!
Menthol Monday! Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Permasharp Mama Bear Awakenings SS 444 AS Balm Osage Rub AS Dolce & Gabbana EdT I've got a great set-up ready for this morning which I guarantee will really put those icicles in my face. The Gatsby facial wash starts the freezing process, the Awakenings soap turns your face into a block of ice, and the 444 balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo is a combination which will make it so frozen that you'll almost be numb all day. This was one magnificent shave!
2/17/2014 Show Us Your Mug Week and Menthol Monday!! Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO Razor: G E Jones Shake Sharp bakelite handle, H Boker & Co Master Razor straight razor with worked spine Blade: Viking Sword (1,4) Brush: HJM Black Fibre synthetic Soap: Barbon shave cream After: Home made ASB After Shave: Barbon after shave splash I had a relaxed and calm shave time this morning. I use a Chip Dip Chiller for my scuttle. I found it on the bay for less than $15.00. The Shake Sharp paired with the Viking Sword is a great combination for me. The Barbon shave cream and after shave gave the right amount of chill. The whole setup came together nicely for a BBS finish. Have a blessed day!
Menthol Monday! Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash Proraso Green Crema Pre Barba Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/new Permasharp Proraso Green SC Anherb AS Conditioner Osage Rub AS Azzaro Pour Homme EdT Brrrrrrrrr cold and beautiful is the way to describe this set-up because every item is colder than heck. The Gatsby facial wash is colder than quite a few mentholated creams and soaps and it smells nice, with great moisturizing. The Proraso Green pre-shave cream freezes the face even more, and sets the stage for the matching shaving cream which we all know about already, and the Anherb conditioner and the Rubby Dubby Doo are both guaranteed to leave the skin so frozen that you'll be almost numb for the whole day!
Menthol Monday: Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Rapira Ginger's Garden Ice Mint SS 444 AS Balm Barbon AS Aramis Stick Deodorant Aramis EdT An awesome menthol set-up to really freeze a man's face off and to give a super-nice BBS shave with great skincare. The Gatsby facial wash has a cooling effect which takes hold right away, the Ice Mint soap is the only creation from Irena which I have, but I love it so much, and the 444/Barbon duo are hard to beat for iciness and skin protection.
Menthol Monday Prep: Shea Moisture TBS Bar Soap: Synergy Frost_Byte Brush: HIS Razor: iKon Shavecraft 101 Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock yellow Synergy Coconut Bay Butter Balm before ATG AS: Shea Moisture AS Elixir This was a good shave, but not as good as yesterday on the cheeks. It was a bit better on my neck, tho. I'd say DFS on both. I think I'll try an extra XTG pass instead of ATG to see if that works just as well with less potential for irritation. I'm pretty sure I'm going to back off ATG on my neck for a while in any event, if only to let it fully heal.
Menthol Monday: Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Rapira Williams Menthol SC 444 AS Balm Floid Classic AS Not the most bone-chillingly cold set-up but still colder than cold enough. The items I'll be using are awesome. The Gatsby facial wash is really cold, the Williams Menthol cream not only smells and lathers great, it has a strong menthol effect, and the 444 balm coupled with the Floid Classic aftershave will really make you shiver!
This seemed like the place to ask this question: I just received my first tub of Iced SubZero PreShave Balm. The instructions say to apply it to a wet face, leave it on a few minutes, then wash it off. I've seen guys on here saying they leave it on, and apply their lather over top of it (like with a pre-shave oil). Which do you recommend?
Menthol Monday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash #6 Horsehair Super Speed/new Rapira Yeti Snot SS Diana Sport Menthol Balm Osage Rub AS Aramis Stick Deodorant Aramis EdT Guys, unless you can handle hard-core, intense menthol freezing which lingers and lingers after a shave, do NOT attempt to use a set-up like this. Even the Neutrogena facial wash is pretty cold, especially if you leave it on your face for a couple of minutes. The Yeti Snot soap has a freezing sensation which kicks in as you start lathering up, and it causes your eyes to tear. It becomes stronger and stronger as your shave progresses and a cold water rinse might be painful. The Diana Sport balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo are ungodly cold - much too much for many to withstand.
