    I found that review helpful.....literally :D

wow...just not having any time for being online much here lately. Sorry, I know you guys and gals never even noticed missed me...

Between basketball practices, games, and tournaments....science projects...late work days (I really, really, really hate dealing with Xerox)....and whatever else has been going on a lot that I've forgotten about.

But, on the good news, daughter's 7th grade team won their first game of the year in said tournament two weeks ago - of course, it was in the loser's bracket, lol, but hey, 16-1 against the team that lost 17-6 to the eventual tournament winner....not bad.
Then, they won their first regular season game this past Thursday. Went into half-time down 8-1. Final score - 16 -12. They. Were. PUMPED! :D My daughter had 6 points, lots of rebounds, and some good hustle.
Full disclosure (I may have already mentioned, but...): two of the teams we played have summer leagues, and those girls have already had a good two years playing together before this year. And two games were stormed and iced out (yeah, you heard...events iced out, in Texas...crazy, I know). And the other game they hung in well until the 4th quarter. But most of these girls (including my daughter) are only just learning anything about basketball besides "dribble" and "put the ball in the hoop", LOL.

Had a mishap trimming the beard last week...I know the 1" guard is fine on the sides, but it cuts way shorter on the chin, and thus I always trim the goatee with scissors. However, cords getting caught on the drawer my wife had opened and didn't close caused the trimmer to pull back and cut the goatee. Carp. Oh well, it'll keep grow back

Apparently I've missed some "excitement", so....hope you get to feeling better, hope things start going well for you, hope your vehicle gets fixed, glad to hear Limecat doing better, and whatever else I missed....

Oh yeah, blood pressure measured 122/79 this morning, woo-hoo! I know the meds have helped tremendously, but I'm curious how much A) the cold meds and decongestants were affecting it at that time; and B) how much the nasal spray I've been using were affecting it. I'm extremely surprised how well my sinuses have been since then...but it isn't Spring yet, either.

And, I think I'll be heading to be here soon, so g'nite y'all

So, I was off from work today for MLK. I finished hanging the sheetrock in my guest bath and got some of the joint work done. Have I said lately how bad I am at this... I guess I'll get this one ready for tile before I start ripping mine out.

Hey JoAnna, I was thinking about your New Year's Eve post...

Maybe you could give me your opinion... Do you think I need to re-caulk this tub?

Seriously though, I guess I'm at the waterproofing stage and then to hang the concrete backer for the tile. I'll move the toilet out and finish removing the old tile and clean the floor up and I'll be ready for tile in this one.

Next to rip out my bathroom and do the same thing. The shower was installed improperly and it's all got to go. Only thing is I've got to buy and set a tub in that one since the shower is coming out...

Ick! I'm having flashbacks of tiling walls. Hated that!
Floors are easy to tile. Walls suck!

Forum's looking goofy. I'm excited for the software update, though.

    Oh, car update.
    Need a new motor. :(

Oh no! That's horrible. I feel bad now for posting my ripped out bathroom pics. I'll take the tile any day...

I'm sorry that's happened. What happened to it?

Something internal. Can't be fixed, and caused the timing belt to break.

Well, it is at least cheaper than buying a new car.

    Hear ya, JoAnna.
My car ('02 Bonneville) has been having intermittent starting issues....turn the key to ON, lights, radio, dash gauges, everything work, turn it to Start, nothing happens. Usually first thing in the morning it starts right up, as it goes on through the day, it may take 5 to 3o seconds before it decides "oh, he wants me to do something", and starts. I'm thinking ignition switch - fairly new battery, good connections, when it does crank there's no sign that the starter is bad or anything, just .... nothing when it malfunctions. No clicks, no attempts, it does nothing. probably ignition switch. But today, it took well over 10 minutes before it finally cranked. Which was not good.
My wife was stuck a couple miles down the road with her '08 Acadia (no, we can't typically afford such a vehicle, but it was a special circumstance that allowed us to get it, at slightly less than our previous car's payment). It was in gear, going down the road, and suddenly, she hit the accelerator, engine revved, but car no go. Transmission issue. You can turn it off, crank it back up, it'll go for a short time then do it again. So I don't think it's shot, but some sensor or something (I got three error codes when I ran a diagnostic). Looking up results on said codes, not liking what I'm reading about transmission issues on this vehicle :angry019::angry032::angry019::angry019::angry019::angry019::angry019:

And, to add insult to injury, went to go outside to get something out of the car, locked the deadbolt on the back door, and.....it locked, but kept spinning and spinning. Great, now we're deadbolted in the house. Fortunately, when I replaced the exterior door handles shortly after moving into this house 11 years ago, I never put the deadbolt on the front door, because, well, I don't think it would do much good. So, replaced the bad one with the good one....but not after a lot of cursing and fuming and venting, etc. if that was teh only thing to go wrong today, I probably just would've said "crap" and move on. But it was the sucker punch to the oompa loompas that have already been sucker punched twice today.

So, won't really know anything about the transmission until tomorrow (if we're lucky). Just gotta hope my car cranks in the first few attempts each time tomorrow, gonna have to take wife to work, then the kids to school (normally, that would be one trip, since wife is teacher at same campus both kids are at....but she has to go in early tomorrow), then get myself to work. Then pick wife and one kid up, then pick up other after her basketball practice. Then hope the car cranks for them to get to piano practice (probably gonna cancel, due to excessive automobile issues). Don't know when I'll get a chance to check on transmission....or how many decades it's gonna take to save up money to start to get it fixed.

    Just, uggh.....crappy day

Forecast started out 3-5", went to 5-10", now it is over 12".
Hope we don't have another January '96 - had almost three feet of snow at McGuire AFB, NJ.
Started out just like this, predicting low amounts, then just kept increasing as the storm went along.

I'm getting over having the flu for the last 4 days. I had the flu shot in November. This strain is something else.
I have a 5-6 day beard! And I have a new Merkur progress I haven't tried. Will the progess be effective? Or should I use the R41 tomorrow? I LOVE the web design! :football:
