Snow is getting heavier. I took 3 hours to drive home. It normally takes 45 minutes.

    Aaaand....the adventure continues.

Got the call from father-in-law today, that the vehicle needs to be seen by the service department. Sure, no problem, I'll just drive it up there real quick....oh no, I won't, that's the problem, duh. He knows that, but that means....somehow towing this thing 30 miles up the road.
Like any good Southerner, I'd rather do it myself than pay someone, so making arrangements - my Uncle has a trailer: check. One of my co-workers has a truck that can pull it: check. Double bonus, he lives in that town anyway, so the plan is to bring the trailer back tomorrow: groovy. Get to my uncle's house, hook up trailer (after quite a bit of time spent finding the right combination of hitch and ball). Test out lights: check. Go to pull out....ruh roh. Wheel brakes on the trailer are locking up. Disconnect power, no problem. Friend's truck doesn't have the brake controller. Crap.
Call brother in law, he has it. Few minutes later, all hooked up and heading back to my house. Get pulled into driveway, pull vehicle up to trailer to line up ramps.....wait a second. Retrieve tape measure, get reading of width of trailer, get measurement of width of vehicle. Scratch head, measure again. Un-be-freaking-lievable. Vehicle ain't gonna fit.

So, after all that....tow truck on it's way.

Hopefully find out tomorrow how many kidneys I'm gonna have to sell......stay tuned, I may be asking for volunteers.....um, oh yeah, LOL...I guess.....:D

And NYC schools are open today. Not a good idea.

Our forecast of 3"-5" turned out to be a total of 13". Currently 4 degrees, feels like -6.

I did wake up to a blessing, though. I looked out our front door only to discover our neighbor had shoveled our walk! Lord, bless 'em real good!! :)
Now I just have to dig out the vehicles. :Animatedfrozensmily:

Wow... with everybody's recent bad luck, I feel like kind of a **** for saying this, but I had a pretty good day yesterday. Because I worked extra late last week moving that security camera, I got to comp a day, so I took yesterday off, making for a nice 4-day weekend! Went to the bank and got a new debit card (thank you Target for not having your **** together) then just goofed around the house the rest of the day. Watched a weird documentary about Alfred Hitchcock and the Cold War, finished off Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition, and just otherwise slacked off. All in all, a nice relaxing day. Would do it again. A+++

Funny how you can work up a sweat outside when the wind chill is -7F.
Anyway, the cars are cleared and ready to go. My biggest concern was dead batteries. Both started right up. :happy108:

And I sit here with 0 degrees C and wind blowing. No snow yet in this part of the country. We haven't had any yet this winter. I love snow - the more the better. It puts the wintertyres to work and pulls people closer together. Not to mention how cozy it is to sit in the comfy chair with a hot cup of tea after shoveling snow and just look out the window in the beautiful view. Oh yeah and not to forget the funny car slides on big closed areas - brings up the child in me :D

Icy roads can kill the most fun but a wrong selection of rubber adds to that. Snowy roads (no ice underneath) on the other hand... :D

Today a *little* bit better....dealership thinks the extended warranty should cover the repairs. they won't know for sure until the adjuster comes and checks, but they didn't see anything that would prevent it, so Yay! Maybe I'll sleep tonight...

They checked the pan and found metal shavings....no bueno. But they did hook my wife up with a courtesy car, so that'll help, alot

    How's the everybody elses?
