    Menthol Monday!

Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    #6 Horsehair
    Super Speed/new Permasharp

    444 AS Balm :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Osage Rub AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Dolce & Gabbana EdT

I've got a great set-up ready for tomorrow morning which I guarantee will really put those icicles in my face. The Gatsby facial wash starts the freezing process, the Awakenings soap turns your face into a block of ice, and the 444 balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo is a combination which will make it so frozen that you'll almost be numb all day! ;) :D

This was my 2nd shave using the Plisson Pure/Grey Badger brush. I used it with Stirling Barbershop today. Great lather! Great scent! I am still with my Red Tip and the 7 O’Clock Black. I got another great Red Tip shave. I finished up with Clubman.

3 pass (X,W,A) in a different order. Not sure why, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Really like face lathering the Bigelow cream. Starts and finishes cold!

I really liked the VDH Luxury Shave Soap today. I loaded a little longer with the Semogue 1305 and face lathered for excellent lather. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fat Handle Tech and Gillette 7 O'Clock blade gave me a BBS shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman after shave. Once again, I am clean, smooth, and refreshed.

2/17/2014 Show Us Your Mug Week and Menthol Monday!!

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: G E Jones Shake Sharp bakelite handle, H Boker & Co Master Razor straight razor with worked spine
    Blade: Viking Sword (1,4)
    Brush: HJM Black Fibre synthetic
    Soap: Barbon shave cream
    After: Home made ASB
After Shave: Barbon after shave splash

I had a relaxed and calm shave time this morning. I use a Chip Dip Chiller for my scuttle. I found it on the bay for less than $15.00. The Shake Sharp paired with the Viking Sword is a great combination for me. The Barbon shave cream and after shave gave the right amount of chill. The whole setup came together nicely for a BBS finish.

    Have a blessed day!

    Menthol Monday:

Prep: Hot compress, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave lotion (all gone :()
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Grass Stain Menthol Snow
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (2, 3)
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickinson's WH, Lucky Tiger Menthol Vanishing Cream

Back at it today, having upended the container of preshave lotion to get as much of it as possible from what little remained. The soap was as smooth, lubricating, and frigid as ever, but something about the initial pass still produced more tugging than I've grown used to. Perhaps the FaTip's relative aggressiveness has me spoiled. Two passes got me DFS+ results, and the Lucky Tiger - once I thoroughly cleansed off the residue - has my skin well cared-for and positively frosty.

New Life for an Old Straight

Pre: Hot shower, Shea Moisture Facial Scrub, Homemade Citrus PSO
    Razor: A. W. Wadsworth & Son XLNT
    Strop: Whipped Dog 3"
    Brush: Whipped Dog 30mm Sivertip
    Lather: RazorRock XXX
Shave: Two passes & light touch-up
Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block, Wm Neumann balm

My first-ever chance at using an old beat-up straight razor I've had sitting around for the past four months. My first attempt at restoring an old straight, this morning I finally got to try it out. A very nice shave! Two passes and slight touch up. No tugging. Just a close, comfortable shave! I'm a happy camper!
    Have a great Monday all!

    Soap: Mike's natural, unscented

    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

Three passes, very close, smooth shave.

Normal Seattle day for February: gray skies, everything is soggy, light rain, 38F. It's easy to feel chilled to the bone in this weather. Of course, I'm sorry for everyone who is enduring freezing cold weather today.

Thanks, Bruce! You were instrumental in getting me to not only take the plunge into straights, but also you gave me the confidence to attempt a restore!
So I blame you for the countless hours spent hand-sanding!…..:p
