Exactly, and the reason I picked up this slant as I haven't seen on B4. Only wish I knew who made it as the box had no make or model number on it.

2/26/2014 The Shave Den Products Week

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash, home made PSO
Razor: Gillette Senator TTO, Barbers Favorite straight razor
    Blade: Feather (1)
Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair brush 23mm knot
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat with 3 drops of TSD M Bomb menthol additive
    After: Home made ASB
After Shave: Pinaud Clubman after shave

Today was the first time in a year that I have used a Feather blade. I tried to use a Feather when I first started wet shaving because of all the people saying that it was such a good blade. That first attempt did not go well for my face. Today after one year of improved technique and with great respect I ended up with a BBS face.

    Have a blessed day!!

African black soap for my face
Dr. Bronners lavender soap the rest of me.

    1940's Clix razor
    Derby Extra blade (1)
Mama Bears Lilac Ice shave soap
    Stetson AS

Wow! I bought this razor in an antique store 'cause I liked the off-white handle. It's the only Clix I've seen that's not black. I must say that this razor performs really well. I'm impressed. 3-pass shave and nearly bbs. Even my problem areas came out smooth.

    Viking Blades
    Son of Zues
Wolf Whiskers brush 26mm F2 Finest
    Cold Water
    XX Aftershave
    Tiere de Hermes frag.

I really need and aftershave that is going to do well with the Hermes and Zues scent... Tried Viking Blades for the first time today and the first shave did not feel good. The blade cut the hairs fine but it seemed to feel like scrapping and rough. Will use the blade til its finished hopefully just kne bad blade... or maybe need to try it in a different razor.

From reputation and a simple comparison scan, Stirling's Ben Franklin scent might work well in conjunction with Terre d' Hermes; you could also ask JoAnna here at TSD (or the fine folks at Stirling, or another artisan maker of your choosing) to come up with a complementary soap/aftershave.

Prep: hot shower, Nivea face scrub
    Preshave: homemade bergamot
    Razor: Gem Damaskene
    Blade: GEM PTFE coated
    Soap: Panna Crema Namaste
    Brush: Simpson Duke 1
Post: Thayers Rose With Hazel, 100% Shea Butter

Was in quite the rush this morning so didn’t have a ton of time to prepare. Went with my go to soap and brush. The namaste soap smells so good I could use it every day. Nice slickness and cushion. The Duke 1 is a great brush for face lathering. Just the right amount of loft for creating a nice lather. This was my first time using the famed damaskene razor and I have to say it lives up to its reputation. I really tried to keep the top plate against my face with very little angle and was rewarded with a very close irritation free shave. This razor is going to be very high up in my rotation!

    Prep: none
    Razor: GEM MMOC
    Blade: GEM SS
    Brush: Omega 10810
    Soap: HTGAM Synergy Cavendish
    Post: Pinaud Clubman
    Passes: WTG,XTG,ATG
    results: BBS whole face!

I've had a bit of a veggie SAD (determined to find their inferiority) these last couple of weeks hence the Synergy. This was my first use. It pretty much blew me away! It smells like sweet (unsmoked) tobacco. With just a few swirls my Omega easily picked it up. Upon coating my face with it it felt like I had no soap on my face-rather like I had just put lotion on my face. The performance was like tallow- just as slick and cushioning but way more moisturizing. Mind you I have yet to put it to my ultimate test- a shave with the ER 1924. If it can handle that HTGAM has a lifetime customer!

The MM performed better than usual- BBS all over. Not sure if it's due to the Synergy or the SS blade.

Is there any physical difference between the Damaskeen razor and non-Damaskeen razor?
I've "always" thought that the wording was just to promote the sale of their Damaskeen blades and that the razor itself was identical to the ones not carrying that wording.

The head is slightly domed not flat is my understanding. Though I do not own a Damaskeene myself.

Hm, I'd love to get that confirmed - maybe there IS some physical difference then.

I'll take some pics tonight because I wondered the same thing. Seems so similar to my ER1912 I was going to ask as well. Even if it is the same they both shave amazingly well!

Thanks, would appreciate some definitive answer so I don't have to add a Damaskeene to my list :D

I've owned both and the shaves are very different to me. The Damaskeen seems to have a little bigger head over all and safety bar is bent a bit lower.

I sold my Damaskeen but kept the 1912 and bought another 1912 for travel. I love the 1912!
