An awesome menthol set-up to really freeze a man's face off and to give a super-nice BBS shave with great skincare. The Gatsby facial wash has a cooling effect which takes hold right away, the Ice Mint soap is the only creation from Irena which I have, but I love it so much, and the 444/Barbon duo are hard to beat for iciness and skin protection.

I have to be in early tomorrow, so took the shave this evening. I haven't used the OCMM much in the last couple years, but it still delivers wonderful shaves. I will probably stick with this kit for the week.

 

Since the theme for this week is "I forgot I had That"—which means I have to remember to look for something I've forgotten about and remember to use it this week—unless I forget.

 

Back to my trusty Merkur 1904 this week with my usual Astra SP blade. On the soft soap front: Taconic Lime-Tequilla.

Did three passes on the face and two on the neck today. Only had a little cleanup to do on my neck with my slim adjustable... Feeling pretty good about this. No nicks or cuts as of yet so I think as long as I take my time and don't get ahead of myself I'll be ok...

Great shave this morning. I'll miss Jesse's brushes but they'll be in the mail home to him in a day or so, both are excellent performers. I have a few soaps in rotation that are just top notch, IMO, Synergy, Tiki Bar, Stirling, LPL, Mike's and LASS. It makes early morning decisions difficult. Have a good one.

Another nice shave today featuring the Proraso Green Shave Cream. It was face lathered with ease using the Frank Shaving Finest Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups on the neck with the Gillette Super Speed with the Shark Super Stainless blade left me with a near BBS shave. After the cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed.

"I Forgot I Had That" Week

While looking through my collection of soap containers, I discovered a 1/2 puck of Mitchell's Wool Fat.
I had forgotten that I transferred the remainder of a puck from the original ceramic container (sold!) some time ago.
It made for some really thick & slick warm lather. A very nice Monday shave!
